You would think that since they play these almost monthly that they could just once in a blue moon show them in their OAR.

I would assume the biggest problem/ complaint Spike would have with that would be that the people who don't know what aspect ratio is and think that everything needs to take up the full screen would complain. Obviously, more and more people are becoming aware of aspect ratio, but there are still a lot who don't understand, hence why most movies aren't in their original aspect ratios on TV.

Dammit, I wish I had cable.

Guess I'll just have to wait until September.

Shoot, I think Spike has enough problems just trying to stay on the air, let alone having to fight the letterbox wars again.

Nah! Internet cannot be hated it's a tool, a tool that is abuse by some who like to pretend they know so much about things. One as to find way's to make one feel good about one self in certain ways. For some it's pretending they are expert film makers because they happen to have nice HT and watch 20 movies a week

I got three of them. It took several months to finally get them and they came in a tiny unmarked white box in the late summer of 1979. No packaging, no stats, just a small insert explaining why the missile firing feature was disabled!

It was advertised in the promotion, but (as Beast noted) it was disabled and the only versions that did were unpainted prototypes.

Exactly. I had one BSG toy (why my parents bought it instead of a Viper I'll never know) was some kind of "long range craft" with a viper nose, a long tanker body and a viper-like back with switchable engines. You could disconnect the front and attach it directly to the back, making a sort of "mini-viper". It shot a missile from the nose...the spring wore out pretty quick and the missile wouldn't launch anymore. I remember kids were pretty pissed when they eliminated the missile launching from the vipers & raiders.

I had a couple of the figures, including a lame Imperious Leader (Dammit Mom! I wanted Starbuck!), Muffit, and a Cylon Centurion. Mattel also had a similar promo like with Boba Fett where you could send in PoPs and get a *gold* (command) Centurion. For Christmas of 1978 I got a Cylon Raider model kit...my Dad was a master at putting model kits together but I didn't inherit a 100th of that ability (unless it was snap-together) so the kit went to pieces. My "Darth Vader's TIE Fighter" kit suffered an inglorious end as well.

Sigh. Haven't thought about this stuff in 30 years!

PS: +1 Internets to who can identify what that "long range" BSG ship was called.
check out this website, maybe it's one of these? http://www.toysyouhad.com/Bstar.htm#Vehicles

You know it, and this is my first time seeing Star Wars in HD because I finally got HD service just yesterday. Finally convinced the family it was the way to go now that all the TVs in the house are HD (mine being the first about 5 years back). My mom actually didn't even like it at first because she thought people looked stretched and it took me and my dad a while to convince her that her brain had simply been ruined by watching SD stretched all this time. Anyway, finished watching Raiders of the Lost Ark in HD for the first time, then I noticed this was on and it was the obvious choice.

The purpose of the internet was explained perfectly in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back:

"The Internet is a communications tool, used the world over, where people can come together to b**** about movies and share pornography with one another."

Quick question about the pricing of the Complete Saga , never pre-ordered a large trilogy like this before . On Amazon i can secure a copy for $ 100 . Is that just discounted because of pre-order and will it spike back up to full retail the day of release ?

My guess is it will actually go down by the time of release. Not sure how Amazon handles that, as I've never pre-ordered anything from there.

It's actually already spiked up as many of us locked it in for $90 when it first became listed, and a few got it for even less as it was in their gold box. It definitely won't be full retail by the time of release, but I had a feeling it might only go up, so I would lock that in while you can, and hey, it might even drop back to $90 or less by release day.

The nice thing about Amazon is they will match the final sale price with the lowest available sale price on the day of release. So, for instance, if you pre-order at $100, but then Best Buy advertises it for $60 the weekend of the release, Amazon will ship and only charge you $60. They'll also send you an email stating your savings. At least, that's been my experience.

Awesome time for fantasy nerds... Star Wars and LOTR (possibly) in 2011?! My head might explode.

Anybody else wanting to watch this movie?

Zam Wesell is another pet peeve with me when she was on the run she should have grabbed Anakin's lightsabre and taken his form. How cool would a Jedi bar fight have been? Obi-Wan could have cut her arm off. Why make a green monster? No wonder she morphed into a hot chick....
He was given the job to assassinate Amidala but that doesn't mean that he'd do it himself. Using someone else adds another layer of deniability, which would be important to a man in Jango's situation.

As for Zam, it's shown in the speeder chase that she can change her form but not her outfit, so even if she looked like Anakin she'd still have the same clothes on. Great idea though. Imagine the shock in the audience if Anakin returned to Obi-Wan in the sports bar and Kenobi lopped off Ani's arm without so much as a "hello there"!
