There was no "1+1" to put together. That's the problem. You put down the first 1, without the next number to add it to, and expect people to add it up. You can't leave out half of the equasion and expect people to solve it. But hey, at least your posts and the PT have something in common.

Posts can also be short while still getting to the point much better than you often do.

Not to mention that even some of your longer posts tend to have the same problems as the shorter ones.

And for someone who claims to be "so busy", you still seem to read and reply to posts frequently enough (even if many of your posts are short), and that little green light next to your screen-name is also on quite a bit. So, apparently you have more free time than you are letting on.

Havenīt been in the forum for some time...
Now everyone is fighting on some meta-level about how posts should be written... Whatīs going on here? Be peaceful.

Oh and about that Transmitter/Anakinīs death debate:
I guess either those transmitters donīt exist and are just a tool keep the slaves in line with fear. Itīs a very typical Lucas-theme since imaginary obstacles have been appearing in Lucasīwork since THX-1138.
Or Watto would have deactivated the transmitter when Anakin was freed by Qui-Gon Jinn.

I always (since Ep3) thought Vader died because Palpatine kept him alive with his powers of the dark side. When Vader kills Palpatine there is no way he can survive ...

But while I respect him as an actor and for his body of work. There's aboslutely no excuse for behaving like that.
Kids cry at anything though, he should have been weirded out that Obi-Wan wasn't a ghost or whipped his lightsaber out....

Actors who embrace the roles that made them typecast or pigeonholed are few and far between. Never meet your heros, especially if you're prone to crying..... or projectile vomitting.

I remember David Prowse was on QVC UK for a Star Wars night and a chap couldn't even talk to him on the phone he was so star/dumbstruck. I sat next to him at my school when he was the Green Cross Code (a long running road safety campaign) Man completely oblivious....

I've watched the saga all the time at least over 100 times on different home video formats. And I saw the SE of A New Hope in 97 , Episode 1 TPM in 99, Epiosde 2 ATOC in 2002 and Episode 3 ROTS in 2005 at the theaters when they 1st came out. I was born the year Return Of The Jedi came out in July 1983 about 2 months after Jedi came out.

The Saga? Never.

TPM and Jedi are pretty much unwatchable. I'll watch 30-60 minute chunks of the other four fairly regularly but full credits-to-credits viewings are fairly rare.

Lately I have been watching a lot of the OT. But I recently watched the PT with my wife.

We just have the last one to watch, Return of the Jedi. She hates SW but she's a little interested in the story and asks a lot of questions about it.

I've watched them all recently special features included, I'd like to wipe my mind of them now so I can watch them fresh on Blu-ray.

I've tried inserting a '79 Boba Fett action figure up my nose as a do-it-yourself bounty hunter lobotomy. So far I've only managed to erase The Revenge of the Nerds and a 1983 documentary on sheepdog trials (I can't remember what crime they were accused of)....

Funny thing though I sneezed the other day and was rewarded with Han Solo's blaster; the one he shot Greedo first with.... and Darth Vader's vinyl cape....

Years ago when I was a kid, I once watched one movie of the OT a day for a whole year.

So yeah, I have seen it way too many times. I have lost count how many times.

Too bad about "Revenge of the Nerds" great movie - waiting for the Blu

I only own the OT on DVD - watch them every couple of years or so. Saw all 6 on release dates - the best in theater was New Hope (it just surprised us all) and Empire. When Jedi rolled around it had become too much merchandising. Phantom Menace sucks for the most part. Clones seemed OK but confusing (only have got to see it once), and Revenge of the Sith was good but needed more room to breathe. If I was George for the day, I would have cut out a lot of fluff from Phantom and given more breathing room to the stories in II and III. JMO

Still buying the full set on Blu come September.

And still waiting for the Nerds on Blu

Let see! Why I don't like The Godfather?

1. I do not enjoy gangster movies, never did and never will. The only time I will grant a gangster movie a break is if Humphrey Bogart is in it.

2. I really don't like any of the actors in the movie. I know I will be flamed by the cinema expert of The Godfather but I do not consider Pacino or Brando to be gods of acting. I hope you can all sleep tonight knowing this

3. I really do not enjoy the style of directing of Francis Ford Coppola.

Three strikes, your out!!!!!

Now where the difference is, I don't spend all my waking hours on the Internet forums making posts about my dislike of The Godfather unlike others who seem to have a serious fixation on the prequels
You're confusing your personal preferences/likes/dislikes with critical analysis. Brando's role as Don Corelone is one of the most brilliant performances in all of film history because you don't see Brando -- you only see the Don. That happens only on very rare occasions and usually only behind tons of makeup - like Karloff in Frankenstein or Dustin Hoffman in Tootsie. It's very simple to say, "I don't like" and "I don't believe", but where is the critical analysis of the film? Your comments are meaningless without them.

Well, not often, as I can't stand watching DVDs anymore.

I have tried to watch them, but the minute I put TPM on and see all the terribly distracting EE and noise, and incredible lack of detail, I lose interest.

I think I last watched them sometime last year, or even 2 years ago.
I did watch the PT listening to the commentary tracks however.

He wasn't offering a critical analysis. He was responding to the notion that the perceptions or judgment of anybody who doesn't care for The Godfather are automatically suspect.

In that context his comments were pretty reasonable.
