The cover art isn't a deal breaker on my pre-order of the complete saga, but the prequels are starting to be. Ten years ago I never thought I'd be so ambivalent to what, at the time, was my most anticipated group of films ever. Now, meh. I love the originals, loathe Phantom Menace, tolerate Attack of the Clones and like Revenge of the Sith.

I still have the complete saga on order but that might change to just the originals. Or it might not since it is Star Wars after all.

I am in the same boat as you. I don't care for the Anakin/Luke cover art, but I am going to keep my pre-order through Amazon. There's about 20 minutes of Phantom Menace I like and maybe 15 minutes of Attack of the Clones, but I do enjoy Revenge of the Sith quite a bit.

Sucks having to wait for this release. I've never really been excited for a movie release before so this is new to me. To make it even harder, when they finally acknowledged the release of the blu ray set I decided not to watch them again until I had the blu's. At least summer is coming and there will be many things to keep me busy.

Closest to his vision until next release, probably.

can't wait to see what they did with the packaging of discS 7 8 AND 9.

People, if you LOVE these movies enough to pay 90 bones for them, you can spend 15 more dollars and just make your own covers! I did it for the DVD's and it looks great. I had them printed at a local printing company and they turned out awesome.

This set looks good enough for me to keep it the way it is however, imo.

I might make my own Saga box to hold them all in properly though, and just hold onto the box to hold the more random movies like the Ewok movies, and cartoon network clone wars discs...

it's all good, i'm done complaining about packaging, we're gonna get what we get. it'll never be perfect.

I think the cover art looks amazing. Its so simple yet it sums up the whole series.

HAHA... no kidding. I know some of the SW nerds are really picky but I'm shocked at how much talk has gone on around them.

Unfortunately that's all we really have to talk about, isn't it? There are no details on new transfers or restoration work done on the films, nor have they provided any pictures or videos showing the new transfers. Lucasfilm hyped it up that all would be revealed yesterday and instead all we really got was cover art. So guess what will be discussed in a Star Wars Blu Ray thread immediately thereafter with nothing much else to go by?

Too much focus is being put into the stupid packaging by the fans here. To be honest i'm furious that Lucasfilm hyped up the announcement "all will be revealed" when quite literally nothing of interest was truly revealed....

I want some specs on the discs themselves. Geez, we don't even know if its DTS-Master HD Audio. They gave us a vague "6.1 DTS Audio" blurb which means nothing to me. What is this DVD with DTS Surround Sound.....They could specify the exact audio codec used....

Nothing on the restoration process of the films and whether or not fixes from the previous DVD set are being implemented....For example Vaders pink saber from ROTJ or Lukes Green Saber from ANH.

I will gladly take a cover art with Jar Jar binks parading around in a G String as long as i know that these films are being put on this format at the highest standards. Thats just my two cents.

...Kind of what I was thinking, especially considering the lack of information given yesterday.

Personally, I wish we were all discussing how the film clips look in high definition...as that would mean yesterday was a lot more revealing than it turned out to be!

Pretty much. If we had been given some actual information, the discussion on cover art wouldn't be as intense.

I don't know about hype --- if you go by the last dozen pages or so it seems most could care less about specs and features.

They just wanted their cover art!

Not quite. They listed the disc contents, basically the bullet points on what will be on the outside wrapper.

I knew not to take the "all will be revealed" literally.

It does if you count the commentaries, which each run the length of their respective movies. Its a horrid tactic but it's an easy and technically true way for studios to promote "dozens of hours of bonus features!" on their packages.

Hi,
Like most people I am not very pleased with the art cover of the box set I have done something in about one hour on Photoshop with pictures I have found on Google and it looks more like something I would've expected to get.

Even thought the box set isn't the most important thing it is a bit disappointing to spend over 89 dollars for something that doesn't look great I expected more from G. Lucas.
Let's hope the picture and sound quality will at they best.
