I'm indifferent on the cover art, never been a cover art connoisseur. Just make the necessary corrections to the '04 version and I'll still gladly buy. Hopefully we get more definite and detailed info from Comic Con, which should be mid-late June I think. Surely they will show clips and such from the actual discs then.

Even thought the box set isn't the most important thing it is a bit disappointing to spend over 89 dollars for something that doesn't look great I expected more from G. Lucas.
Let's hope the picture and sound quality will at they best.
That guy did plenty of cover for the DVD, and I'm sure he'll do some fore the blu-ray

Good one! but where's the bowling bowl...?

Yeah, I know maybe I'm a bit overreacting over the artwork, but come on - this is supposed to be one of the biggest blu ray releases ever! at least spend some effort on the artwork...

Most users here wanted the simple black cover. No effort whatsoever needed there. And now when they actually DO spend some effort on the cover it's all bad. Oh well.

You're having a hard time finding useful information.

That's not because the thread is confusing and the useful information is hidden among the cover art talk and the UOT talk and the 'how many Ewoks can you fit in a microwave' talk.

It's because there is no useful information.

Anywhere.

I totally agree with you, I feel utterly overwhelmed looking at this thread! And not sure where to begin or what to enter into the search for an answer to a question I have. Maybe someone has a quick answer.

I want to get the complete saga, but I also really like the boxes for the OT & PT but if I go that route I'm worried about missing any extra content that may be in the complete saga box. Basically, am I missing anything if I buy the two separate boxes?

To me the solution is simple - if the fans are not satisfied, do not buy the new releases. That would send a message to Lucas and 20th Century Fox.

Yes, there is one bonus blu-ray in each of the seperate OT & PT . You get an extra one with the Complete Saga, for a total of three bonus blu-rays.

They will buy and they will keep right on complaining all the way to the store how Lucas is a money grabbing grand pa but they will buy, never doubt that they will....they won't keep quiet about it, never doubt that either

And what good would that do? Most of that information we are still in the dark about. Right now there's nothing to say on most of those things due to lack of information. If separate sections for each of those areas were created now, most of them would either be silent, or full of speculation that would drift off into tangents that technically go off-topic (as has happened many times in this thread), thus making those threads long and full of 'nonsense' that doesn't give you any more info than this one does now.

And when that information is revealed, I'm sure there will be a nice, simple, concise article posted here on Blu-Ray.com summarizing it all, so you don't have to hunt through a huge thread like this one just to get the info that you are looking for. So, even when that information becomes available, this suggestion of yours will be rendered moot.

I really don't understand why so many people keep coming into this thread asking questions about specifics of this release, as if there are people posting here who have secret knowledge about this release that isn't included in the major news announcements. If such info was known, it would be included in the news articles/announcements.

It's called common sense, people... if you don't have any, go find some.

I love this thread. We have nothing to talk about except the very special cover art. "All will be revealed.... at some other time...."

But as I have been saying for a while; the answers to the questions we all want (i.e. are the colors fixed? how about the reversed sound channels?) won't be answered by Lucasfilm because they would have to admit there was something wrong in the first place (they won't do that). So, really, we have to wait until they release a real trailer not 'whatever that was' they released yesterday. Oh well. Its only two months until that convention someone mentioned like 20 pages back. Should find out more then.

Other than having the majority of the details of the specs. Which people seem to keep ignoring.

I love the packaging. Especially the Complete Saga, which is simplistic.

Yes, I would love to see the original poster art used on the films, but these are way better than the DVD covers.

But cover art isn't the most important thing about a release. It's what is on the disc that matters, and while we know zip about the restoration job, we now have an idea of the features.

I mean, classic trilogy deleted and alternate scenes! So far, we've only seen some in the Empire of Dreams doc and the Behind the Magic CD-ROM.

You have a good point. Its just not living up to what people were expecting is all. When you leave a phrase like "...and more!" on something you said that "all will be revealed..." on, then you make people upset/disappointed (setting yourself up for failure). Cover art was nice and specs on the 9th bonus disc were good to see as well. Just the real questions were not answered and it is a hard pill for some to swallow is all. But hey, I firmly believe we'll see a trailer that will say "REMASTERED IN STUNNING HIGH DEF!" soon.

The AND MORE prob refers to stuff we may have seen already cause if it was major stuff it would have been listed.

Personally i want all the music videos that accompanied the prequels .

Frankly I was expecting more, you all call yourselves Star Wars fans

Back on topic now, I for one really like the complete set and that's the one I plan on getting. Glad the release is on a Friday, taking that day off and will have a full Star Wars nerd weekend
It's extremely hard keeping up with these guys on here right now!

The main story is about Anakin and Luke, who makes Vader realize....

They are "SW" fans!

I like it too, but I would actually prefer a photo collage, but kept simple.
Anyway, the box art is not terribly important to me.
The content is what really matters.

Yeah, this is quite cool, but a little too busy. I don't think we need the 20th Century Fox, and THX logos on the front.

Don't give the mods any ideas.
They might delete everything, and the 5 really funny jokes, in between all the ranting, bit4%ing, moaning,.... would be lost forever.
