Because of how iconic Yoda became in Episode V, I don't see George replacing the Original Trilogy Yoda.

In Episode I, that's been done. That I don't mind.

Question: Anakin in original ROTJ, he has hair, both arms and legs, and no scars at that old age. How is that possible, I mean he lost them when he was young?

Obi-Wan was cut in half, but he still has a full body.

lol I'd love to see that. Obi-wans top half at the end of ROTJ while his bottom half is lost walking somewhere.

Then it should have existed on Boba Fett in 1980.

why do you say "adywan" before your post?...just curious as I've been a fan of what he's done with the original trilogy so far...

A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back look amazing on my plasma, but for some reason look very choppy on a Samsung 7000 series LED that I tried them on....

if push comes to shove, I may just donate money to Adywan for his versions of the original trilogy and probably still keep the Blu-ray versions so I have a clean conscience....

that's if he completes his additional edit of ANH and ESB....

Something interesting i've just seen someone post:

Quote:
several days ago I have had a conversation someone who is involved in the Bluray production over here. He told me that in each and every film there are several changes, but he can't tell anything about these. I am not sure if it is official or not, but it may be some info on the films on BR.

Not really surprising. It'll be tinkering more than anything.

What? Didn't he disappear before the blade hit him?

Wow. I so hope they did that!
To me, it looks like they "touched" up the Puppet Yoda instead of completely replacing. I think that looks very nice. Hope it's not a fake.

I'm so ready for SW on blu-ray and am looking forward to more improvements by Lucas. I'm all for updates to my favorite series.

It's a given that there will be tinkering with all of the films. One spot I can point out that needs tinkering is in Episode 3, during the epic duel between Anakin and Obi. When Anakin has Obi in a choke type hold, the lightsabers switch from Obi's saber, and then to Anakin's, it needs to be Obi's saber throughout that sequence. I'm sure there are hundreds of things they could fix

The Muppet soooo needs to be enhanced, if not entirely replaced. I would be stoked.

I'd say he gave the answers already!

1. The Special Editions were not different "cuts" or "versions" but just the latest evolutionary stages of the very same movies / cuts.
2. It's the filmmakers choice ONLY how he wants the films to look and sound. It's not up to the "so called fans". That's called artistic integrity, folks!
3. For reasons of historic preservation - the OOT (outdated original trilogy - i like that ) has already been released on DVD.
4. It's redundant to have multiple versions of the same movie in this box-set. It would be a waste of space and the set would just be more expensive.
5. The main changes like Ian McDiarmid in ESB or Hayden Christensen in ROTJ are crucial to the understanding of the saga.

edit: I am retarded because he's made comments throughout the last couple of pages...

is this the actual Adywan who is working on the fan edits of the original trilogy? or someone just posting as him?

That Yoda doesn't look terrible, but it doesn't belong in the OT.

I much prefer the one in my avatar.

This I agree with, the puppet Yoda should be left in the OT, now with Episode 1, give us a digital Yoda, the puppet looks ridiculous. Though I'm a newer generation Star Wars fan (since 1999), I do know when things need to be preserved and when things need to be replaced

Cleaning up effects shots, tinkering here and there with some scenes to better align them with the PT is NOT destroying anyones childhood or the original intent of the films. Sure - Han shoots first, Im with ya there and I hate the change. There are a few other scenes that arent good additions but overall, I dont see having the unaltered OT such a big deal.

The battle for Yavin is WAY better in the new versions. Some of the added CGI elements at least give the OT a more modern look and feel and thats important, IMO.

Could they have included the purely original OT with this set? Yeah - but not everyone wants that and if it was gonna add a lot to the cost than that would have pissed off several buyers. Im a huge SW nut but I can live without the untouched OT - I dont get why more people cant? Oh well.
We have already covered the cost.

The PT should have been made to align with the classics. Not the other way around and change things that have stood for as long as some of you posters have been alive. And yes revisionism in wrong period! Does not matter if it is Film History, American History or World History etc..etc..

Yoda should not be touched in ESB or ROTJ! Unless he is releasing the UOT along with it. I just love how he is going to erase everything that was so great about the films...the puppet work was sensational! I bet Frank Oz would not be pleased. Lucas just needs to release the UOT to us in HD and then just go and reshoot 4,5,6. Everyone would then be happy...we would be happy because we get the great films in HD, The Fanboys would get episodes 4 5 and 6 with all new actors and special effects so they would be happy and Lucas would be happy because it would actually give him something to do for another 9 years.
