As stated by Steve Sansweet, "We have been at work for a couple of years working on - I won't call it the Ultimate Set because we keep finding stuff - but, a very full set of all six movies on Blu-ray with lots of extra material. We're finding all kinds of scenes from dailies that have never been seen before. Beyond all of those things that you know about... there are some real treasures."

Industry sources say you'll be enjoying "The Force" in 1080p next October (2011).

ALSO: Stated by Peter Sciretta of Slashfilm.com:
"BestOfLuckProductions.com (via: AICN) reports that the animated television series would revisit the original cast of characters from Star Wars in post Return of the Jedi Adventures, and that “not everyone who dies in sci-fi stays dead.” Apparently we’ll find out what he means in three to four years, but I’m guessing it means that some of the Sith survived. Sounds like a bad idea, but consider the fact that fans are saying that the current animated series, the Clone Wars, is better than all of the prequels combined."

There is no other official information at this time

Yeah, and remake Jaws and The Exorcist and The Wizard of Oz and Close Encounters of The Third Kind and E.T. and all those old movies because they can use modern technology and make the effects better. Brilliant!

well star wars is all about space and lightsabers and shit so it would be beneficial. By the way your other examples aren't even the same type of movie. Nice try tho

Yea sure why not.

Judging from all the remake/sequel movies lately la-la land is evidently out of good new ideas anyways.

And Jaws featured a mechanical fish that didn't work for weeks and guess what, heads don't spin backwards and that wasn't a demon writing on her stomach. I won't even comment on your lack of knowledge of the other two movies. And I am glad that 2001: A Space Odyssey doesn't have "lightsabers and shit" because you'd want to remake that too.

Movies are more then special effects. There was this series called Star Trek. Hear of it? Those effects were lame, it was the acting, the writing. Harrison Ford and Mark Hamel are ICONIC in those three movies. Look at all the high tech flops. Nice try on your part.

ok buddy, its obvious you have allot to prove, i just made a simple comment. Put it like this if they did remake it, they'll get my support. END OF STORY

Blasphemy!!!!!

If Lucas didn't own the rights it would of probably already been done though, I heard there are like almost 100 remakes in the works currently in Hollywood. Apparently there quickly running out of ideas.

The only way that this would ever happen, and I am saying it should not, is if Lucas ran out of money and sold the rights.

All six are bound to be remade, I just doubt it will be in my lifetime, which I am very happy about.

Just because it can be done, does not mean it should be done.

Or maybe they should replace all the CGI in the prequels with stop motion. It's just too bad that it's too late to use puppets.

Tell you what, when you spend almost your entire life doing a movie franchise and paying for the last 3 films pretty much with your own money, you can decide how to do everything.
