Because, it's too hard for some people to understand that there are others who have differing opinions. If there was a death penalty for hating the prequels, I'd be hanged. In fact, I find to be bland, generic, and as wooden as the Twilight films. But these are just movies, not science. Not even worth debating. And certainly not worth getting into a hissy fit and tattling to the mods over.

And you probably got that warning not specifically because you were defending the prequels, but due to HOW you were defending them. You probably said something in a manner that was way out of line, and that's why you got that warning. Stating ones opinion (whether in defense of or opposition to the prequels, or any other aspect of Star Wars for that matter) in and of itself is not ban-worthy to my knowledge as long as it is done in a reasonable manner.

I like the look of the set, I admit I'm not too informed on digipacks or whatever other types of packaging, but that picture from Amazon UK looks awesome.

Good find. It's either a deleted scene or the reworking for The Phantom Menace replacing the puppet.

For anyone is Canada, as it now been confirm that it's coming out on September 16th? For the longest time Amazon.ca had the release for the 23rd of September.

Not doing any pre-order, I have a few Future Shop cards as gift I am planning on taking the day off and buying it in the store when it open and spend the rest of the weekend watching the set.

What movie in the saga do you watch the most nowadays?

I think it might be TPM for me right now, mostly due to my young daughter who loves it.

When I was her age, it was ROTJ. I didn't really like ESB then, and I didn't appreciate ANH. Probably in college and before the PTs, my favorite became ANH.

The Phantom Menace. Still my favorite movie in the saga. Probably followed by Return of the Jedi.

Agreed. I do wonder though, the US version comes in a book packaging along with a boolket right? So the UK gets the Booklet but not the book packaging (which features additional photo's I presume)?

I wonder if other versions will turn up like Alien where the US had a book packaging, the UK a folding Digipak (iniatally) and the Netherlands+Germany a Facehugger edition.

This is almost how I feel. Maybe because I was either to young, or not even born yet and wasn't able to truly go throw that amazing experience the OT brought so many fans when it first cam out.

I think TPM rules and enjoy every bit of it. Not as big a fan of the love story but enjoyed RotS a great deal as well. I just can't wait until I can watch 1-6 on BD.

Good choice I like all 6 of the star wars films equally and enjoy them all. I like the original trilogy the most and enjoy and I enjoy the prequels equally. I still can't understand why some fans think Episode 1 The Phantom Menace is a bad film. Sure it is not prefect and their is some flaws in it but it's a decent film. The lightsaber duel and the podrace are still the highlights of the film for me.

Well, none of the films are perfect. The OT just has the benefit of most fans having seen them as children.

So they're placed on this pedestal and viewed through rose colored glasses. It's just the way that nostalgia works.

Australia [B]Special Features that apparently won't be available Star Wars: The Complete Saga.[

We know that each film will have two audio commentaries, one from the earlier DVD release and a new one. I wonder/would-like-to-think if the new one is a compilation of audio outtakes from these earlier docos/featurettes that arn't listed in the Complete Saga release.

peace

The amount petty squabbling in this thread is of epic proportions. As far as which film I watch the most, it used to ESB. After that it became ANH. The rest of the films I watch off and on. I watched them so much growing up that I came very close to burning my self out. Usually how I pick a film to watch is that I go sit in front of my collection and look for one that jumps out at me. Star Wars got to the point where every time I looked at them on the shelf it was like the whole film ran through my head. That kind of takes the enjoyment out of watching one of them when you pretty much know them by heart. So I would say I don't watch them much at all anymore. They are still some of my favorite films, but there really is no point in me watching them. They are burnt into my memory word for word and scene for scene. I can even hum the music while thinking about the lines and scenes in my head. I miss when they were new.

How do you explain the credits at minutes 134, 268, 402, 536, 670, and 805?

Yeah I got to be the same way. Even when the BDs were released I though, "great, I'll buy them, watch maybe 1-2 a year but I'm burnt out." Then my 4-year old for some reason started liking them. So far she loves "star wars 1" and "star wars 4" and is bummed that I won't let her watch "star wars 3". She doesn't care about "star wars 6". LOL

This past weekend, I dug out about a dozen of unopened Star Wars figures I bought more than a decade ago and let her rip into them. There are probably 100 more for her to go through, but as of now she only wanted Padme, Anakin, Luke, Leia, Jar Jar, Obi-Wan, Han Solo and some droids.

Her interest in them has seriously renewed my interest in them. I know actually *like* TPM whereas two years ago I thought it was a wasted mess of a movie. Now I look forward to watching them on BD with her in a few months.
