I can get behind that, since "Duel of the Fates" was bar none the best thing to come out of the prequel trilogy, IMO.

Absolutely! Despite the PT's flaws the music is still great.

I have to say...I have softened up on Star Wars since my son was born. I was a Prequel and Special Edition hater for the longest time. It's not that I felt that Lucas did something to me personally, I just think certain changes detract from the films. My son loves everything Star Wars though. The movie, the soundtrack, the action figures. He even hums the "Imperial March" or the "Death of Kenobi/Tie Fighter Attack" music...out loud...in public!

I pre-ordered the complete saga from Barnes and Noble using the 50% off coupon. I swore I wouldn't get sucked in...but seeing the absolute joy on my son's face and the $45 price won me over. His birthday is this Saturday and we are watching TPM for the first time together. I have to say...even though I'm not a big fan of the film...I'm excited to sit down with him and watch it.

I just wish the prequels were more like The Clone Wars series...which I absolutely love. In my opinion, the prequels have their moments...but aren't great films.

Anyway...I'm looking forward to getting the saga on Blu-ray. It's a shame we can't get this set Blade Runner style (all cuts...especially the OOT)...but I'll take what I can get so I can enjoy it now with my son.
What coupon code did you use to get 50% off since I thought those already expired?

I only thought he was decent in Jurassic Park. Not good, decent. Loved when that shark ate him! I'm not a fan of his, but even that won't deter me from owning this set.

The actual new music composed for the PT is wonderful, but we are talking about John Williams here (a certified musical genius), so that is to be expected. However, what happened to Attack of the Clones is a completely butchered musical experience. Tracks recorded for Phantom Menace are literally inserted into the film and edited together so poorly, it always takes me out of the film when they pop up. The music John Williams actually scored for Clones, written specifically for the action on screen, is great... the temp tracks sloppily pasted together by Ben Burtt or the music editor in certain scenes just reek of lazy/cheap/unfinished work (take your pick). Revenge of the Sith recycles some music from the previous films as well, but not nearly as bad as Clones.

I was going to bring this up, but I didn't want someone to start arguing with me trying to prove the genius of AOTC's score. The musical arrangement of AOTC was a botched job. Burtt sometimes went a little far with the sound design. Examplified by his argument in the sound studio when they were putting the mix together for the Mustafar Duel. That bit alone made Within a Minute worth watching just to see how that man really acts. That being said, AOTC did give us Across the Stars which is one my favorite William's pieces so it has its redeeming moments.

Am I the only one who is having trouble deciding which box set to get, the complete saga or the prequel and original trilogy? The box art for both all 3 sets are amazing I wish I could own them all but I have to choose. Am I crazy?

Let me help you. The complete saga has an extra disc of special features covering the whole saga. The seperate trilogies do not get that disc.

The saga set has three extra discs that the separate sets do not contain. The separate sets only have their respective three film discs.

Last I heard the trilogy sets had 4 discs. Three film discs and one disc with special features pertaining to the trilogy its included with. The complete saga set gets 6 film discs, one disc covereing the PT, one disc covering the OT, and one covering the whole saga.

This seems to get brought up a lot. Fox US has made no indication of whether there are 3 or 4 discs in the separate Trilogy sets. Having said that, I refer back to my post from mid-May:

https://forum.blu-ray.com/blu-ray-mo...ml#post4739263

Fox Australia always puts the number of discs on the front of their art. The art released for the separate trilogies show 3 discs. That is the only official information that has been provided by Fox on disc numbers anywhere in the world that I'm aware of. Barring different audio and sub options our Star Wars DVD and Blu-ray releases have always had the same content so there's no reason to think that this is not consistent for the release worldwide.

Amazon US product links also show 3 discs. Between those two it's 99.9% certain that you are getting only the three film discs buying the trilogies separately.

From the official Star Wars site:

From 20th Century Fox site:

Amazon says the same for the PT. On the 20th Century Fox links, make sure to click the "more" button.

But as I said yesterday that's just speculation on my part. I thought the UK Kubrick set would be separate cases and it turned out to be a jumbo Amaray, so I was miles off.
I hope that the US Star Wars packaging ends up more like the UK Aliens packaging. I prefer actual disc hubs over card board sleeves or whatever that the discs slide into.

I'm buying the complete set myself. I want the three bonus discs. Actually, count me as someone who wishes there were more bonus discs. There was so much more they could have given us in terms of special features.

I haven't looked at this thread for a while but knowing it, i'll probably have to delete 7 pages and suspend half a dozen stormtroopers and rebels.

Default DVD Features

Back on to the subject: Is there any indication that the DVD features of the movies (maybe in standard definition) will be included in the supplemental material on the two bonus-discs - like they did with the Bluray release of "Tron"?
