The kid at 0:58 who said his favorite flick was AOTC reminded me that we should avoid cynicism and see these movies through our own young perspectives. Together they tell a great story and any flaws or nitpicks about individual movies dissipate when you put everything together.

When I was that kid's age I thought the Jaws sequels were better than the original because you get to see the shark a lot more and more people get eaten. My point is that kids don't know what a good movie is!

For me, my decision is simple: If it turns out the transfer problems for the OT are fixed, I'll buy the Complete Saga. I suppose there is some fun to be had watching the first two prequels and having a good laugh at it's expense, plus I am very interested in all those deleted scenes.

If they aren't fixed, then I'm gonna keep watching Star Wars like it's 1993!

My definitive version would contain the 3D versions, the special edition versions, and theatrical versions of all 6 films. Think I will wait until after the 3D versions are to be released on blu. Hopefully he will release a truly definitive set at that point. I want all versions of this saga.

Not only did we get word years ago that new masters were being created for the Indy blu's, we also got word, just recently, that those masters are now completed - and Indy hasn't even been announced and, probably won't be released until fall of 2012. Here we are a little over a month away from the Star Wars release and not a single peep, in regards to the masters, whether they're new, or existing, the films themselves. And BOTH franchises are property of Lucasfilm....

I think it depends on the age of the person watching. Since most older people experienced the Saga 4 - 5 - 6... 1 - 2 - 3, that's probably the way to go for them. But I'm going to give 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 a shot this time around.

I remember reading about this in a Star Wars Insider magazine back in the 90s, but I never saw it nor did I really understand that they reshot those effects until now. I for one am very glad they didn't replace these shots in the Special Edition. The originals are better framed and better overall.

Is the film itself any good? I bet it is cool to see how they broke down each element in the shots they redid.

Shhhhh!!! You are using logic and reasoning in your assessment of the video. That sort of thing isn't allowed around here... only blind faith and praise in Lucas and the Blu-Rays are okay.

It was done in IMAX, however I never got a chance to see it except for the opening shot on 'Entertainment Tonight' way back in 96.

I keep checking YouTube to see if it's ever posted but no luck. Kinda incredible that a good vid copy of that opening shot has never made it onto the internet.

That's why I am hoping that either that redone shot or the whole doc will end up on the BD set. It would obviously make a great extra for it.
