Why does the U.S. have to have different IMO inferior packaging and with NO disc art unlike ALL other countries?

Is someone rationalizing so they don't have to buy the blu ray?

I would have loved some disc art on these too, but the UK versions are HIDEOUS .

I agree. The statement seems to suggest that the Blu-rays aren't really worth it.

I saw it on a 42 inch LCD. It was night and day compared to the DVD.

I own many films on blu-ray and getting to own the star wars saga on blu-ray will be great when the discs finally come out next month. Blu-Ray is a great format to have a film on disc compared to a dvd and their is a huge difference in picture quality from dvd to blu-ray.

I'm so glad you posted this. I was thinking about posting that clip myself, but thought people would get pissed-off by the implication. Too close for comfort, I guess. It would be different today, though. They'd be a counter group (and it wouldn't be Star Trek fans) protesting how Lucas has raped their childhood.

All levity aside, I do have a 42" 1080p Panny plasma, and I sit 4' 4" away from it, so it does the job pretty good. I also have a 7.2 HD audio setup, and I can't wait to see and hear Star Wars on my setup in barely over a month!

I'm getting the Complete Saga, and watching them 1~6 and then the bonus stuff. I really like all of the movies, but I do think the story is much better in the OT, but the action, sound, and pretty shiny lights in the PT make for a pretty fun experience too!

My 60 inch Mitsubishi DLP HDTV is 1080p and I'm looking forward to seeing the saga on blu-ray in 1080p and listening to them on my onkyo tx-sr308 home theater receiver in DTS HD Master Audio 6.1 . I will probably watch the films 1st then the extra features after that when the blu-rays come out next month.

What panny do you have mate?I have a 55" and sit around 6 feet from it,and in some scenes I can see the pixels. No problem, but don't worry about size, those who get hung up on that is overcompensating

It's coming out last week of my vacation, and boy am I stoked!Gonna watch the first and second the first day it comes out!Or is that forth and fifth...

You do realize that you only have to be about 5.5' away from a 42" display to resolve 1080 lines right?

I was mearly making a statement on how good the PQ on the last DVD set was. Not that Blu-ray isn't worth getting. I have some 400+ blu-rays and love the format beyond comparision. I know that the Blu-rays are going to be sweet, no doubt, but I just wonder how much better they are going to look. Am I going to be pleasently surprised or are my going to be blown away. I know there will be absolutely no dissapointment. On the audio front, I wish they WOULD just re-record movies 4,5 and 6 with the London Symphony Orchestra as they just don't have the sonic dynamics of the prequels. Particulary "A New Hope". That's always been a sore spot for me. I'm sure the purists would scream at that, but to me, A New Hope has always sounded a little flat and un-engaging. Not very open and transparent. Being that I was 10 at the time when it came out and being floored at what I just saw, lets say it made quite an impression and is still my favorite of all 6. Still, I can't wait for the whole set to come out and will take the day off from work if they have a midnight thing at my local Best Buy.

But seriously, though, it's nice to stop talking about a certain subject that has plagued the last 50+ pages on this thread. Let's find something positive to talk about.
