We are getting the 2011 versions of the films, which we really don't know very much about yet

jks I'm pretty sure most of the 2004 changes will be intact, maybe some will be improved upon (Han vs. Greedo), some lightsabers will be improved and hopefully the colour timing will be corrected.

The Saga Boxset is already pretty cheap. You're paying about 15 bucks per movie. The LOTR EEs cost over 23 bucks per film at their lowest-to-date price. Also, according to the price tracker, the price of the SW Boxset hasn't moved at all in over 200 days. Maybe it will go down, but it doesn't look too likely to me.

Ummmm...not really sure how that would work, considering that she was pregnant throughout the whole movie, unless that sort of thing floats your boat.

Speaking of cartoony, I don't remember this scene. Welcome to the uncanny valley.

yep. This thread was created in May 2010, almost a year before we got any real information regarding the blu-ray release on May 4th, 2011

i see. thanks.

i havent seen the original trilogy since they were re-released in the theaters with the CGI added. its been a long time since ive seen the original 3 unaltered.

i wish we could have gotten a set with both altered and unaltered version of the original trilogy on it.

I would imagine preview copies and leaked copies will hit really soon, revealing screenshots and information about the actual changes. With less than a month to go until the UK release, its only a matter of time before they're in the hands of people willing to share the details.

Does anyone think amazon will show its customers some love by dropping the price to $69.99 instead of $89.99? B&N had it on pre-order for $69.99, so im just wondering.

  • The disc art sucks and the packaging will shatter your discs just by opening it - unless you buy the UK versions where you will receive film cells and free blow-jobs

No, you're right - we know NOTHING

Nothing of any importance until somebody actually gets their hands on a disc, imo. Although I'd appreciate some new information

Enough with Yves Corbeil, dubing studios! He's everywhere, including the Arnold's voice in the late Terminator's movies!
I don't follow much on dubbing as I prefer watching them in the original language and use sub if I must. I think back in the days we only had the French dub from France and only in the last 10 years have the local dubs become more and more in use.

As for Yves Corbeil, yes he is everywhere it's almost funny. I think I even heard he is now making dubs even for the France dubbing

Subtitles also appear to be burned in on the movie, not the black bars. The foreign language subtitles cover up the burned in English subtitles which is why the picture I posted looks odd with the black box behind the white letters.

I think it was obvious that the DVD version was the one going to be in the set.
