what's the best way to proceed here? Did warner repackage old non remastered versions of the movie too?
That should be the remastered version. I don't see why any of the old Paramount first pressings would be getting WB bar code stickers. I've never had problems exchanging items through Amazon, so if she opens it and it turns out to be the old version, I'm sure they'd exchange it.

I sent my copy of Saving Private Ryan back to them after it had been opened and they sent me a corrected version.

So the turn around time was less than a month for the remastered exchange disc! Very happy to find it in the mail when I got home tonight from work...guess what's going in the Oppo tonight!

Thanks, she opened it up and it turned out to be the remaster. Yellow barcode under the sticker, 1B1R2 on the disc and "GLADIATOR" stayed all black in the opening title sequence.

Yup, the one I got has yellow barcode on case w/ "2 Disc Set" below the Paramount logo. The disc art is gray with 1B1R2 on the disc code band.

Default Amazon pulled off shelves

The 10.99 set was listed as a 4-disc set, which it never was (2 disc), and a couple of days ago Amazon said there was a problem and now it's unavailable.
Is Gladiator cursed?

No. Amazon more than likely made the product unavailable to confirm and correct the number of discs listed. That's it.

Well, it's available again, and still the wrong info, still listed as 4-disc set, which it is not.

If you bought it in the US and there is all English on the artwork then yes. BTW we have a search function, you can use it to find a more detailed answer.

Does anyone know if the deleted scene "Fed To The Lions" from the original 2-disc DVD is on the Blu-ray? Couldn't find it, but the BD seems to include everything else so I figure maybe I overlooked it.

Default Can't tell if I have the new version or not

I picked up a copy from BB recently. I do not see 2 disc copy on the back anywhere and there is a barcode sticker from WB but underneath there is no yellow sticker. I can't see the code on the disc, my eyes are just not good enough. Both discs are grey. I've seen posts that say it has to be a yellow sticker but that if it's got WB on it, it should be new. The opening sequence stays all black. So this is conflicting info since the upc is not yellow but it sounds like it is the new version. Can anyone confirm?

Ok, first link is totally unrelated, and second link is to a thread thats 2 years old. They couldve put new remastered copies out by now in the german steelbook. Ive checked these threads and everywhere else before, its not very often i cant find what i need on my own, but this is one giant pain in the ass right here.
