Like I said, safest way is the second Paramount release with the yellow barcode. The disc art will be blue instead of grey.

I'll make this as easy and painless as possible:

ALL Warner branded UPC releases INCLUDING THE STEELBOOK are the remastered version.

USA Paramount branded UPC releases:

- UPCs colored yellow are remastered ALL OF THEM and they ALL will say Two-Disc Set above the Paramount logo on the lower back corner

- UPCs colored white WITHOUT the words Two-Disc Set above the Paramount logo on the lower back corner are remastered ALL OF THEM

THIS APPLIES TO THE US ONLY, CANADIAN PURCHASERS ARE STILL HIT AND MISS.

Now can we stop asking about this? It's been over two years already!

I'm so sorry I forced you all to enter a thread against your will, and then forced you to comment. Must've been traumatic.

Maybe for you Americans. Here in Canada, that meant nothing. Even yellow-coloured barcoded copies had the inferior transfer.

You should give Stephen Harper a call about this.

After reading reviews and comments on amazon (as late as 11/12) it appears that the release that is here, linked as the remastered version, is not always, because some are saying even the yellow bar code on the back is not a sure fire way of knowing you got the remastered edition. The only way to know for sure is to look at the underside of the blu-ray for the code "B1:B2." Makes sense to me, just like the old Jurassic Park DVD release.

Default Out of curiosity...

Just out of curiosity, is the steelbook version the first or second transfer of "Gladiator"? Just wondering. (By first, I mean the DNR to hell transfer, by second, I mean the yellow barcode transfer just so you know what I'm talking about, this also goes for the Warner Re-Release)

Same here, I'm not sure the blue disc art is necessarily true.

What was wrong with Iron Man? Are we talking about the one with Robert Downey Jr?

The disc "code" is the only thing that really needs to be checked. Warner however only ships\has the "remastered" version I believe....

4) Review copies of the Iron Man: Ultimate Edition Blu-ray set had an audio track that triggered the Late Night Viewing Mode in some audio receivers. Paramount was able to press new discs before the street date. Fixed discs can be identified by a barcode sticker over the original barcode on the cover art as well as a blue-colored Disc 1 instead of the grey-colored Disc 1 that reviewers got.

I'm pretty sure if you end up with the old crap version Paramount is still running the exchange program. I had to do that when I bought the old one in 09 and it went fine. Or if the disc numbers are wrong, make up an excuse to return it. Here's info on contacting them about it.

Bottom of disc near center hub. If it's too small just pop the disc in. If the letters for the title card for Gladiator at the start of the film are black then you have the remastered disc.

Thanks! I was pretty sure I had the remastered disc until the color of the disc thing was brought up.
