Well I got my copy today and the code on the back is B1:R2. I hope it's the right one. It looks pretty good to me. I'm going to check with Paramount to make sure.

Well, I was at Best Buy with a Reward Zone certificate for $45; I got Game of Thrones for $38.99, and needed something else to use the certificate. Since I never got around to getting my original Gladiator blu-ray replaced, I just went ahead and picked up the $9.99 Steelbook and walked out paying only five bucks.

So now I got both the original DNR Gladiator release and the new Remaster in a Steelbook. Nice.

The ironic thing is that the first run of this movie on blu had the original theatrical opening (with the title changing to gold.) The remastered disc contains the home video opening with the title staying black.

I just bought a copy at Best Buy this afternoon and...............you guessed it, its the shitty version.

I went with the regular plastic case because I didnt really like the looks of the Steelbook and got burned for my troubles. I did a search, found a phone number and tried it but its been disconnected. How do I go about getting a replacement?

There is an email on the replacement thread. It's Paramount's general email, but it couldn't hurt.

It appears I may have spoken too soon................I looked at the special features disc instead of the feature disc. Strange though, this package seems to have a mish-mash of packaging. It has the white UPC, says "2-Disc Set" over the Paramount logo on the bottom rear of the case, and the disc is grey. The code on the feature disc reads: NA13081B1R2 I did pop the disc in, tried both the regular and extended versions and the Gladiator text stays black until it is overtaken by the mist. I guess I'm ok after all?

You're fine. If the code on the hub ends in R2 you're good to go.

I know you posted it. I'm just saying that the original pressing had the theatrical opening from 2000 where the titles changed colors. It was changed for the original dvd release. I'm just surprised that it was on there. The remastered disc is the black title, as on the original dvd release.

I had wondered about this as well since noting that the earlier DVD had both EX and ES matrix and discrete 6.1 mixes. The film had both theatrically. Since I haven't heard these tracks I have no idea how different it is from just the standard 5.1.

Got mine today and it is the corrected remaster, I made sure and got the one with the Warner logo on the rear UPC.

Same here. I just recently bought the steelbook from US amazon. I was avoiding that whole initial bad blu release a couple years back.
