Why can't we just get a goddamn release of this film with features and lossless audio that isn't limited to some ridiculously smaller number? I mean, every release keeps selling out, so clearly the demand is very high for this one.

That was just the Zavvi Steelbook though. Hang on for the regular edition from Eureka.

Apparently Eureka didn't even announce it yet. There should be an official preorder day. The ones that got through are lucky....or so im told.

I hope so. I was literally just about ready to buy the German release. This Eureka release looks fantastic. I don't care if it's a steelbook or not.

Is this going to be region free? And what will the price be?

Sony allowed the titles they licensed to Indicator (Christine, Body Double, etc..) to be region free, so I think this will be too. Plus Zavvi actually lists it as region free, which is odd since their default is to list titles as Region B.

Is the steel a Zavi exclusive? Never bought from them before. I have the Twilight Time but this might be a superior release, so I will get it if I can.

Is this the same scan that Twilight Time used for their encore edition of Fright Night or is this a new one? Sorry if this has been addressed but I cruised through this thread and couldn't discern anything for sure.

Both TT releases, as well as every other release worldwide come from the same scan. The only difference is encoding. This will be the case here too. Sony did a 4K scan and restoration for the title, so nothing further needs to be done for it.

I really would like to see an official press release where it is stated that the transfer is indeed a 4K scan. Can someone provide this to me?

Thanks,

Thanks,
I believe Nick Redman stated so in an interview, or through a FB comment. Haven't just about every new Sony scan been at least 4K in recent years? Besides the fact that it actually looks like a 4K job to me, it would be odd for Sony to not have done one for this. The fact that Eureka's specs states its from a 4K digital restoration essentially confirms it also.

It baffles me when labels release Blu-rays made from 4K restoration and put no mention whatsoever. It's the same with Starz / Anchor Bay's Halloween 35th Anniversary Blu-ray. The only cue I found is this article, http://www.comingsoon.net/horror/new...mie-lee-curtis in conjunction with the 35th Anniversary's back cover. "All new HD transfer supervised and approved by cinematographer Dean Cundey"

TBH, at the price zavvi were asking for it I would expect the "steelbook" to be encased in solid silver
