I am sure they are doing more reprints lol going by the sales figure. Gone are the days of Steelbooks being truly limited.

I'm just asking because Resolve seems to have all sorts of curious behavior and I find it is easy to make even 100% clipped to REC709 show color gamut going beyond P3.
(not that some UHD don't extend past P3, a few do and all are encoded in the larger REC2020)
This is him talking about the process, but he doesn't say which software he uses.

Ordered on 09/08 from Deep Discount, on backorder. Arrived today, four disc set, no scratches. Was double boxed along with a vinyl LP. Didn't expect the order to be filled honestly, yet alone so quickly. Third item from the order, which was listed as in stock, didn't ship for some reason. Go figure.

I think Pyoko did Gamut Visualizations in Nuke.

An user said that most likely Nuke was used to plot the color gamut graphs. What do you know about Nuke?

Searching in his thread proves that it is Nuke indeed.

I’m working in Davinci on a daily basis and have not identified any misbehaviour with how the gamut is presented on the diagrams. That is, of course, as long as the color management is properly set. If you’ve imported BT.709 clips to a BT.2020 project you must do a color space conversion for the gamuts, waveforms, vectorscope etc to appear correctly. This can be done both in ACES and Davincis own CMS.

Everything he says sounds good but as you say no mention of what sort of software or tools were used so hard to say in the end.

EDIT: OK, apparently he used Nuke, which I know nothing about.

Perhaps. I just seem to find lots of odd behavior that doesn't add up. I've only used the free version though.

Only one more image, also from Pyoko: blues that go beyond DCI-P3, presumably from his costume.

Whenever I upload images as an attachment, resolution takes a hit. Here are all his Lawrence Of Arabia screenshots in full quality. Color gamut graphs, and also HDR graphs for the movie.

He does. He showed his Nuke node tree here.

You're grabbing the url of the preview, not the original image. I'd also recommend wrapping large images in spoiler tags like this:

[Show spoiler]

Nissling is right. If your colour management is set up to remain within rec. 709 bounds, you really shouldn't see chromaticity coordinates outside of the gamut. If your working space has a larger gamut, rec. 709 colours can easily be pushed outside.

you can easily load REC709 as REC709 in a wide gamut working space and have it show past REC709 colors before altering any dials and with everything default

numerous other strange things too

Correct. Because your image is being read as having rec. 2020 (or other WCG) primaries. If you do a colour space transform going from rec. 709 to rec.2020 on your image, most of it should reside within rec. 709. Note that the conversions aren't perfect so you may see errors slightly outside of gamut.

I'm excited to finally be able to see this in person once mine gets here but it does always bother me that Sony continues to not do LoA to the best possible standard on each format somehow. I wish there was a quiet redone disc like the Bridge on the River Kwai reissue I need to pick up.

Maybe one day Warner will wake up and do UHDs for Zhivago and Ryan's Daughter...

Wasn't the 2012 blu-ray pretty much at the peak of what the format could do, catalogue title or not?

About a quiet redone 4K disc, maybe in the 65th anniversary.

Some odd things happening. Best Buy's product page went back to saying "this item is no longer available in new condition" in red text, rather than showing a price of $29.99. Not sure if copies went live sometime in the last eight hours and are gone already, or if they are still messing with things on their backend.

Meanwhile Amazon has it back in stock, now at a much lower price of $27.18, but with a later estimated delivery date (anywhere between October 4th to October 26th). My original order I placed on the 8th with them for $40.86 is now estimated to be delivered on September 26th, but the price has not updated to the new one. I placed a new order for the lower price and will simply wait it out.

Here's the product page: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
