You seriously just put all my fears to rest. I was having nightmares of having to re-purchase "Near Dark" again.

Very interested in what Mark Davis has to say considering ever since he did "Leprechaun" his career took a considerable nose-dive. All he did was work in television until Trimark Pictures took a chance on him. Ever since "Leprechaun" though you'd think the guy would be getting first-look at all the best scripts in Hollywood, but no, not the case.

Two years after the success of "Leprechaun", Republic Pictures hired him to do a horror film take on the "Rumpelstiltskin" tale. This was a smash hit within my circle of friends because it was so over the top bad, so bad it's good, type stuff, I vaguely remember my friend paying a small fortune for it on DVD back when DVD was at the height of it's powers.

Mark Jones career is somewhat sad, but I mean he's atleast had steady work in television. It seems whenever he doesn't have a film to shoot he's doing television and he's not picky about what series he's working on. His most recent offerings as far as films go have been a dud called "Triloquist" in 2008 which was straight to DVD courtesy of Dimension Films. And apparently, Anchor Bay put out another one of his works, totally under the radar, no promotion back in February, this one is called "Scorned."

Now, while we all know this man will forever go down in history as the man who did "Leprechaun", hell it should be engraved in his tombstone. But, in an interesting turn of events which I cannot locate any video from, Mark Jones the director himself once appeared on 'Judge Judy', unfortunately I cannot recall any of the details.

Rumpelstiltskin I liked. I agree, over the top and it was so bad it was good. I liked Triloquist also. It was nothing great but was an oddball film that I enjoyed. Scorned I haven't seen yet.

That sounds right yeah.... Here are some threads on the issue.

With all of that said, disks do fail still to this day, however it is incredibly rare. The Lions gate disks were manufactured poorly and outside of normal specs which is why so many of these early batch failed and continue to do so. However outside of these initial 8 or so titles there isn't any reason to worry. Of All my Lionsgate titles only 1 has ever given me trouble, and I have most from that initial wave as well.

FINALLY!!! I will give them what ever they want (within reason that is) for this Leprechaun box set!
I have them all on VHS and DVD already but would love to own them in HD! I've never even seen Leprechaun 4 In Space in widescreen before since they never released it on widescreen dvd. Even "HD" Cable airings have only shown it in Fullscreen.

Have they listed the Aspect Ratio for all of them yet? I thought part 4 was a Showtime TV movie and 1.33:1 was OAR

If The Exorcist Anthology set is only going for $25.19, I can't imagine this being more than $34.99, $39.99 tops. Any more than that, shame on Lionsgate

Yeah I really can't wait for the commentary for the first movie. I thought Jennifer Aniston actually did a great job in it.

The pre-order is up on Amazon for "Leprechaun: Origins", but no pre-order link yet for "Leprechaun: The Complete Collection". At least I couldn't find one. Maybe I'm overlooking it?

That's false. Leprechaun 3 was shot in 1.85:1 and Leprechaun 4 was also shot in 1.78:1 or 1:85.1. Both also are currently available in HD via digital distribution and look great considering their budget/niche appeal.

Yeah bought these on iTunes when they were $4.99 each. All 6 movies are 1.78:1 and look great in HD

That the first i heard about 3 or 4 in widescreen, but that is good news then. Presumably all movies in widescreen together. Now if they just add the trailers for all of the movies and all the bonus features from back 2 the hood this would be a perfect release!

The extras are already announced.

Each is getting a (presumably new) commentary and making of.

This is one of the few things I've really enjoyed Jennifer Aniston in. I'd enjoy it more if they could get commentary, or an interview, with Shevonne Durkin for part two, my personal favorite of the series.

The problem I had with part II was that nothing happened. For half the movie the Leprechaun talks about how he's gonna rail this poor girl and make her give birth to these hideous leprechaun babies, and instead of showing us that movie, we get a bunch of running around inside an old tree. I enjoy the film, but the story that could have been shown is far more interesting compared to what was shown. Having only watched parts 1-3 part 3 has been my favorite by far.

Thanks to this thread I finally opened my Leprechaun "Red Carpet" double feature DVD that I bought several years ago for $2 at a discount store. The only Leprechaun movies I think I have ever seen, at least in their entirety, are the "Hood" ones, which I actually enjoyed on a lame brain level. I am 20 minutes into the first film right now and I am not really engaged. Davis is entertaining though.
