Look, dont watch bonus features? Then there's no reason you should care what format they're on. Give them away or something.
The point I think he's making is that all of the sd content could have easily been put onto 1 blu-ray disc and I agree.

There is a slight tilt towards green in scenes at the Shire but that's deliberate - Jackson obviously wanted the grass to look as green as possible. These discs will figure on many of the lists of the year's best transfers. Relax, everyone. Jackson and co have nothing to answer for.
Careful with the verve and arrogance of such a statement! You may find certain people don't appreciate your 'type' round these here parts!

In all seriousness I agree 101% with you. Many people have been getting their knickers in a twist over a perfectly good looking disc. Yes it's been slightly tweaked, mostly it's not noticeable without 'measuring' equipment of some kind. I'm sure almost everybody will be very happy.

Do you have a Blu-ray drive in your computer?
I'm looking for screenshots (UK Edition).

That's great news. But it is not nonsense. Our own reviewer Ken Brown has confirmed that the green tint is there the whole movie. You said that the titles are white, would you be so kind and take a screenshot of it? This is important, if it is white as you claim, then we might have two different pressings of the Fellowship discs.

I've done extensive analyses of a variety of scenes, those where the tint is more obvious and those where it is not. As far as any objective analysis can confirm, it is always there. Even when Gandalf confronts the Balrog, red and orange-dominant as that scene is, difficult to perceive as the tint is, the green/cyan tint still affects the specific hues of the reds and oranges. Comparisons between the exact same Gandolf/Balrog shots in FOTR and TTT make the difference (and the presence of the tint) more clear.

To be clear: every scene will not look green. That is not how a slight green tint works. A slight green tint only affects the hue of the colors. The majority of blues still look quite blue, and the majority of reds still look fairly red. Even the greens as they're intended aren't suddenly overbearing. The tint is only apparent when a number of factors align to more readily reveal the presence of the tint.

Again, the tint is there, and it does appear over the entirety of the film. While it is not apparent throughout the entirety of the film, it is there. Peter Jackson did make deliberate color changes. If this is one of them, he and Lesnie applied a constant green tint over the whole of the film. The issue at the heart of this discussion is not the product of a selective, scene by scene adjustment.

Hope that helps clarify!

(Even so, yes, it is still notably superior to the theatrical transfer )

Good question. Even though each case of the U.S. edition is smaller than the U.K. edition for sure, there is a slight possibility that the outer box's dimensions may be the same, though I think that such possibility is slim to none. Because it seems clear in the youtube videos that the outer box of the U.S. edition is also smaller than the U.K. editon. Note that, from the youtube videos and the stills of the U.K. edition, it appears that set is region-B locked.

I agree it is not nonsense. That Duggie Walker did say he has the U.K. version of the EE so what he sees on his discs might not be what we here in the U.S. see on our discs. And we all know that some films on Blu-Ray have different quality in different regions with what seems like the U.S. versions usually getting the shaft in the quality department on some of them.

This disc set seems to be over-priced...even at $69 bucks. The 3 films are ALL most people want. The 34 extra discs or whatever is just a rehash of what you've already seen/own in the DVD EE set.

I wonder how long it will take for these to be available individually?

As release day gets closer and closer, I get more and more turned off by the pricing and how you are forced to take a bunch of extra crap that is essentially worthless. Why is it that some disc sets get it "right"(Alien anthology) and some have to have issues?

What they should have released was: a 7 or 8 disc set with each version of the three films along with a disc or two of extra content. Basically, exactly like our current DVD EE set except with the three theatrical films thrown in. Why couldnt they have just done it that way? ARRgghhh!

I think you may be forgetting how much a single bluray costs. $69 is a steal. Most likely when these are released individually they will cost a minimum of $25 each, basic math shows one that buying individually will cost you $5 more than the set with all the crappy DVD's.

I find it funny how people are so upset that these special features are SD, they were shot in SD, they could have easily up converted everything but what's the point 90% of the people that own the content before have already seen it all. Wasted time and effort.

Screenshots from the French edition, courtesy of Kaotech on the homecinema-fr.com forum:

Hardly any difference when comparing to the same images in the Polish/Thai BD dump, so it looks like the exact same transfer, IMO.
