188 is combined runtime for both movies.

I'm not sure why the Umbrella rep isn't being more forthcoming one way or the other or at least say "I don't know yet"
Did not even realize it was both movies on the LE, so that does make sense.
What I get for posting after practice.

Last word on this: just checked my disc and only A Boy Named Charlie Brown is 4:3 stretched to 16x9. Snoopy Come Home is cropped 1.77 but correctly presented otherwise. The opening and closing credits are proper 1.33 though.

I was tempted by the double pack... but as the original is still 4:3 I'll pass.

Why can't you get this anywhere in the theatrical ratio (1.85)?

It so disappointing that we obviously won't get the original artwork on the reverse without the rating logo. Simon Sherry is obviously forcing his personal drawing on us. This release should please the fans and not boost his ego.

The 1968 film was shot in 1.33:1 academy ratio, so no 1.85:1 (16X9) version exists.

Anyone know anything about the transfer being used for NOTLD '68 in the Umbrella limited edition? Will it be restored and free of intermittent cropping? Or do I still need to hang on to my old red case Elite DVD?

After the TT nightmare/shit U.S release, and what appears to be no interest from Sony to release this themselves in the U.S, you would think that people would simply be happy to be finally getting a Blu-ray version that better reflects the intended look of the film. For anyone that isn't region free, and shares this idiotic opinion as the poster I am responded to, I hope it ends up being region locked.

I like the new artwork. I pre-orderd it. I think it might be getting close to selling out because they have a Strictly Limited banner and a Stock Level: Selling Fast banner on the page now. Glad I got my order in. For under $24 shipped was a no brainer. Just hope it's Region Free

Pre-ordered the limited edition even though my billing address is about to change. Hope JB has a method to update payment without re-ordering like Amazon does. Looks like a great edition!

Well, went ahead and put in my pre-order for the Limited Edition. Already have the Japanese Happinet disc, but I think the Limited Edition is a pretty cool package being bundled together like that. With the cool artwork and the Reflections On The Living Dead documentary, it's worth it for me having another Night (68) disc. Looking forward to getting rid of the Twilight Time disc.

It was shown theatrically in 1.85:1 and internationally in 1.66:1. The current 4:3 master is cropped at the sides but open matte on the top and bottom yet there are some scenes that are cropped all round.

I pre-ordered. Glad I read this thread. This will my 2nd version of the remake and third for the original. I always loved the original better, but I've always been a fan of Tom Savini's gore effects. To this day, I wonder why this site hasn't even reviewed the original in all it's different versions.

Never ordered from then until just now, and during checkout it said they charge upon dispatch, although they do put a $1 temporary verification on your card upon ordering.

Got my pre order in for only the remake. The Happynet version is great as far as the original goes. I will keep the TT edition for reference sake. Can't wait to view it on blu the way it was meant to.
