As the title implies, I'm have networking issues. I got everything all set up and working on my computer, but when I try to connect my PS3 either wirelessly or wired my router cycles it's power and disables my internet connection. So I ask to people who had this issue and resolved it, or are just smarter then me (but thats not had to beat) what the hell do I do to fix this problem.
I have a Linksys router, model WRT54GS. Thanks for the help people! |

First question do you have any other computers connecting to your network?
Also make sure your router is set up to DCHP. And you have enough clients avail via DCHP. On the basic setup page about half-way down. |

No, just my desktop and eventually the PS3.
I do have DHCP enabled, pretty much with the default settings for the router minus some security stuff (no WEP or WPA encryption). |

The fact it is happening on both wired and wireless makes me think there is something wrong with the rounter. I will say Liknsys support is very good. I have had to use them in the past.
I have the same router with 2 network printers a bridge for my HT that has a 5 port hub on it along with my PS3 as well as 2 computers one wired one wireless. So I know it is more than capable. |

If you find out that it is the router I would take it back and get a D-Link, I have been using one from a recommendation from our IT guy at work and it works great either way wired/wireless.
FWIW he has been phasing out all the linksys stuff at work due to reliability/connectivity problems. He uses D-link and netgear exclusively now. My brother also dumped his lynksis for a D-link DGL-4300 ($100-130)gaming router because no matter what he did he had a NAT type 3 on his ps3. Now type 2 & no problems. I have the much cheaper WBR-1310($30-50). |

I second that. I had tons of my problems with my Linksys until it finally kicked the bucket. I'm Netgear all the way now.
