No Way Out (1950) officially announced by Eureka. It includes a commentary by Eddie Muller among other extras. I asked the Kino Insider about a release, and he said they may bring up to Fox the next time they work out a deal with them.

Quote:

1080p presentation of the film on Blu-ray, with a progressive encode on the DVD
LPCM mono soundtrack (Uncompressed on the Blu-ray)
Optional English subtitles
Audio Commentary by film noir historian Eddie Muller
Archival Fox Movietone Newsreels
Original theatrical trailer
A collector's booklet featuring a new essay by Glenn Kenny
More to be announced!

With regard to the Twilight Time vs. Indicator/Powerhouse dilemma, I've preferred the Powerhouse presentations so far, and I always opt for the Powerhouse disc if I find out about it before I find out about a respective Twilight Time disc, but I still don't feel slighted if I happen to order a Twilight Time edition of a particular film simply because it was announced and sold before I was aware of a Powerhouse edition later on.

Indicator/Powerhouse has the edge when it comes to extras, but the differences in picture quality are usually marginal.

I keep the Twilight Time Encore Edition of The Big Heat on the shelf next to my Indicator/Powerhouse edition. The presentations are both stellar. I don't plan to replace my Twilight Time Blu-rays of The Crimson Kimono or Underworld U.S.A. with the Powerhouse Blu-rays, though.

If you decide to pull an "Owl" and buy the Indicators anyway, I'll be happy to take the Twilight's off your hands.

If the Powerhouse/Indicator Blu-rays are region free, then you'll be better off buying them from Amazon UK for cheaper than it would cost to buy the Twilight Time discs (unless there's a sale at Screen Archives).

Powerhouse/Indicator releases a lot of region free stuff, but they also release a lot of Region B limited stuff. Their website is the most reliable place to find out which discs are region A playable.

The Powerhouse/Indicator Blu-ray of The Big Heat is region free, as is their superb Blu-ray of The Lady from Shanghai.

Incidentally, the “Enter Our Shop” front page on the Powerhouse/Indicator website, with the two girls from Never Take Sweets from a Stranger, cracks me up to no end every time I visit the site. I guess that this means that I'm pretty demented.
If you've seen the movie, then you'll understand.

I actually own the Indicator Big Heat, Lady From Shanghai as well as Vampires and Body Double. I'm just kind of weird, I kind of want the other Fullers from twilight time since I have House Of Bamboo from them. But I should get over it, Indicators packaging and art are always top notch in addition to very good picture quality

Not lots of locked stuff, only the small amount of Fox and Universal titles released this year. All the Sony licensed stuff, the majority of their output, is region free.

After owning an iPhone 4 for over seven years, I finally replaced it with an iPhone X a couple of weeks ago.

Earlier tonight, I discovered the “noir” camera filter setting.

Just watched Out of the Past. I decided to watch more film noir so I bought it during the Warner Archive sale. The crackling dialog, the cinematography, Robert Mitchum (who is really attractive, I have to say), and the story really make the film great. “Joe couldn’t find a prayer in the Bible.” “You can’t make deals with dead men.” Absolutely loved it. Definitely need to see more of that genre.

I'm sure most people know about this one, but if you don't, do yourself a favour and pick it up - Criss Cross, from 1949:

Not sure how I managed to miss seeing this, but it's an absolute classic of the genre, fatalistic and bleak, bleak, bleak. And Dan Dureya is in it, say no more.

Deep Discount currently have it for just over 12 bucks. Region free according to DVD Beaver, bare bones, but great picture quality.

Never Take Sweets from a Stranger is about a creeper who preys on young girls. It’s a disturbing flick, and it must have been much more so upon its release.

The front page of the Powerhouse/Indicator website has a still frame of two girls looking up at an unrevealed man holding a bag of candy, and the words, “Enter Our Shop”, appear over the image.

I'm still holding out that this gets a nicely-extra'd release from Arrow or Eureka, but man I can't wait to watch it again...

How's Bound? Nice seedy, steamy noir in the style of Body Heat and Cruel Intentions?

Thinking about grabbing it during Olive's BOGO sale over at DD (which includes Cry Danger btw, a terrific little noir.)

If you have a region free player go with the Arrow release of "Bound". It has a ton of bonus extras and a booklet.

I second that Bound is a great slice of neo-noir, replete with its corrupted characters, femme fatales, mood-soaked locales, and forbidden, overtly sexual atmosphere. A must-own on Blu-ray.

A big box of Samuel Fuller at Columbia coming from Powerhouse Indicator on the 18th June, including Crimson Kimono, Underworld USA and Shockproof. All the details on the Powerhouse Indicator thread.

I'm going to pre-order this.

I had no intention of double-dipping on Underworld USA or The Crimson Kimono, but there are a bunch of other films in that set, including Scandal Sheet, as you posted above, Shockproof. This is going to be solid!
