I am in Canada and there are no Barnes & Noble's here. Do their July sale include Flicker Alley or just Criterion? The FA titles are crazy expensive here.
Thanks

I am also a huge Gloria Grahame fan. That documentary sounds very interesting. Also, a feature on Dan Duyrea.

I am actually thinking of seeing if I can sell my Kinos on ebay and buy the Indicator set, just for the supplements and book.

As far as I can recall, Flicker Alley titles aren't usually included. FA releases rarely seem to go on sale. Your best bet would be to wait for Deep Discount to have a 15% off sale, and get it from them (they ship worldwide).

I don't think B&N ever does a Flicker Alley sale. However, ImportCDs.com has solid prices on them right now, plus promo code HAPPY10 will give you an extra 10% off in-stock items.

Right now:

The Guilty/High Tide - $25.19
Repeat Performance - $24.19
The Beast Must Die - $24.19
Bitter Stems - $24.19

Trapped - $28.19
Woman On The Run - $28.19
Too Late For Tears - $28.19
The Man Who Cheated Himself - $28.19

The first two are pretty solid deals right now for FA titles.

Also worth noting, for Region A locked folks, that it will be playable on US machines (regardless of any specific brand or player) by pressing the popup function at the region mismatch screen.

Also, Standard editions for the Columbia Noir #1 box set:

Further to the selling out of our COLUMBIA NOIR #1 box set, all six films from that volume will be released as individual Standard Editions on 19 September: ESCAPE IN THE FOG, THE UNDERCOVER MAN, DRIVE A CROOKED ROAD, 5 AGAINST THE HOUSE, THE GARMENT JUNGLE, and THE LINEUP.
Would have got this just for the Web if it wasn't already released last year.

Was excited to hear a commentary, but the commentator had almost nothing interesting to say about the film (even though he spoke a mile a minute). At one point he just talks about Ida Lupino for about 5 minutes. What she had to do with the Web, I haven't a clue. Maybe just the Edmund O'Brien/Hitch-Hiker connection...

Are you referring to the Jason Ney commentary on the Kino release? I have that one, but haven't listened to it. I don't believe I've heard a Ney commentary yet, so I'm not familiar with his work. The Indicator release of The Web includes a commentary by David Del Valle, who hasn't left much of an impression on me, but...it might be worth checking out if you're a big fan of the film, I suppose.

I have relatives and friends in USA so I can have shipped to them. I will look at the Deep Discount site too.

Yeah, they're all good. And one could even say Deported, Kiss The Blood Off My Hands, Larceny and The Web are great.

I have 3 of the 6. I may just sell or trade the Kino versions and get this as well. I don't want to miss out on volume 1 of a series.Their Columbia series was excellent and I expect the Universal series should be no different.

Hi Dailyan,
Thanks for this. Does this work on all Eureka titles? I have a multi-region Panasonic player but I am just curious as I prefer my Oppo, which is not region-free unfortuately.
Thanks.

No, it should be available at other UK retailers too, and likely from some US retailers too like Diabolik DVD,

It works on only a select few. I've compiled a list of titles here
