Some of these, especially the 70’s films would really benefit from a 4k restoration on 4k blu ray. Considering the substantial budget of most of these films we really should have better transfers available on blu ray by now

I'm not an apple customer but if I was I'd check that GoldenEye 4k version that's up on iTunes immediately. If it's in the original aspect ratio and doesn't have Dnr, then it's definitely a new scan.

It's not a rumour. 4K DCPs of the entire pre-Craig Bond catalogue have been available for a few years already, even for the old Casino Royale and NSNA.

I think I'd honestly get divorced if that's what it took.

When I bought the Bond 50 set, I thought that was my last time buying the vintage Bonds. Much like Connery, I thought to myself "Never again" will I have to buy these titles. Well, Never Say Never Again! I do have some "requirements" though. Even though nobody asked me...here goes..

I want lossless original audio on all the vintage titles. I've deceided to pass on the soon to be released Halloween 78 in 4K because they have not included the original audio, so that's a big deal for me.

I'd also like to see both the international and US cuts of Thunderball. The international cut is superior overall but I love and miss the end title music from the US cut.

They really need to fix the surround audio for On Her Majesty's Secret Service. The puny gunshot effects that have replaced the original gun effects is one thing but the lowering of the music in the Gumbold safe sequence is totally unexceptable. This release would absolutely need the original audio more than almost any Bond release. (Thunderball coming a close second.)

Of course, the crown jewel on 4K will probably be Goldeneye. That really needs the facelift more than any other Bond title. Please, please, please get this one right finally in 4K...

Casino Royale (2006) should include both the international and US cuts of the film. Even thought the international cut only runs about a minute longer, I find that it does have an impact on the film itself, especially on the opening sequence and the later stairway fight.

Casino Royale uncut finally in the US would definitely be nice. It's not a huge deal, which is why I never imported, but it would definitely be cool to see happen.

There is no "international" cut for Thunderball just as there isn't one for any of the other Bond movies (beyond censor cut differences).
The slight differences on the ADR of a few scenes are likely to be versions escaping before the final cut was signed off and it's doubtful any of the changes were specifically done for different markets. Not least of all because the "international" cut had the John Barry score missing entirely from the battle scene at the end and had different end music - neither seems intentional. The bonus feature on the disc that shows the differences clearly states nobody knows why they exist. I'm sure if it adjustments had been deliberately for non UK markets someone would know.
The same could be said for why all the video releases of OHMSS for well over a decade used the reissue version with the safe cracking scene edited out.

I agree about the audio though. Some of the surround tracks are great but OHMSS is terrible with the balance between music and effects drastically changed. In the safe cracking scene the superbly tense John Barry music is at the forefront of the sequence and plays quite loudly but on the 5.1 track its been reduced to background

I still recall around 2009 that director Marc Foster confirmed recording a commentary track for a Quantum of Solace special edition that would also include more extensive supplements. I realize if this hasn't materialized by now the chances are slim to none it ever will, but damn...it would be sweet if it all came to fruition on Quantum's eventual 4K release.

Of course, the troubled productions of both Quantum and SPECTRE likely explain the absence of audio commentaries on those releases along with more in-depth supplements.

Hopefully these get a UHD release soon. I don't care to own a majority of these - just Craig's 4 films, Goldeneye, FYEO, LALD, LTK, and FRWL/Goldfinger.

That has to be the most...interesting ranking of Bond films I've seen.

I'd rank the Connery classics a little higher, but honestly that list sounds about right to me otherwise.

I like the first two acts of that movie fine. It's the climax that turns into utter stupidity.

Die Another Day is a total blast. Pure campy, goofy fun. Definitely so bad it’s good.

Also Rosamund Pike in that movie might be my number one Bond girl, looks wise.
