Guys, I need some help.

If I wanted to buy the Canadian set of the films and use the Digital code so it ports over to my Vudu and such (USA, mainly), is there a way to redeem it so it ports over?

I know trying UK codes once didn't work out for me, but how about Canadian?

I'm still holding out hope that Universal intervene. I mean technically there's nothing at all stopping MGM from releasing them all on UHD disc - via Fox, natch - but they have avoided UHD disc like the plague thus far and there's not even a hint of a rumour of a whisper that they're going to start releasing UHD content on disc any time soon under their own banner. (I still say that them bundling in UHD rights to crown jewels like TGTBATU when licensing them out to indies was a very bad sign as to their own UHD aspirations )

Still, I think they might have to make these Bond UHDs a real 'event' if they don't want to end up getting burned like they did with the Blu-rays, the first wave of which was released in 2008 only a few years after people had upgraded (yet again) to the 'Ultimate Edition' DVDs and people just didn't want to know, causing retailers to sell their exclusive steelbook rights to amazon and making MGM put the remaining titles on hold until the big anniversary in 2012.

Would a limited edition 4K set of poster, art cards, booklet and soundtrack CD for each movie be mucho expensive when talking about collecting the entire Bond series on UHD? Yep. Might it be the only way that MGM could justify a 4K release (apart from a massive all-in boxset)? Who knows. Either way, it ain't gonna come cheap IMO.

Well luckily a Bond UHD would be on my "pay whatever it takes" list. They could release each movie separately at laserdisc prices for all I care.

An Indicator /PowerHouse films set would also be acceptable!

Indicator/Powerhouse would produce a superlative set, and would be a good choice to handle such a collection.

Oh, sorry, when you said "costly" I didn't grasp that you meant "for the labels to acquire", though the word "licenses" was a fairly big clue

[edit] I reckon that MGM would still ask for less than what Rubinstein is trying to peddle Dawn of the Dead for though

Onto License to Kill!
FYEO was about as good as TLD if you ask me , another good Moore was TSWLM

Yup, an awkward and weird scene definitely made awkwarder and weirder, though Jones must have found it satisfying turning the tables on a notorious on-set prankster like Moore...
Babs Broccoli was also into that prank btw.....sounds like something that Vince McMahon would get a chuckle out of

Just dropping in briefly to say that all James Bond films in 4K are available on the Aussie streaming service Stan. (sans HDR), and GoldenEye was the first title I loaded up, hoping to see a solid 4K remaster...

And yeah I wasn't disappointed. GoldenEye looks DAMN great in 4K, clearly a new scan & remaster from the OCN. Even watching a stream, the grain field is fine and textures are mind-blowing, not to mention the image depth even though it's only SDR. Sharp as a tack, too. It's a Sony-level remaster. So yeah, no more smeary, textureless movie. Whenever this new master hits disc (either regular Blu or 4K), fans are going to love it.

Pulled the trigger for $67.97 on Amazon. Is this a good deal compared to how it has been priced previously?

I've only seen the Daniel Craig Bond movies

Yes it's a good deal. And if you've only seen four of the 24 movies, you're in for a treat.

Am I wrong to assume that they're fire-selling the black and white boxes this holiday season to clear stock and make way for UHD releases in 2019?

UHDs won't happen before Bond 25 drops in Feb. 2020. But I've lost track of who owns what at this point, so that date might be optimistic.

I wouldn't be surprised to see UHDs in late 2019. Pretty much every Bond box set to date has included an empty slot for the upcoming film; they tend to release the sets as or before the new film hits cinemas. Throw in a desire to be part of the Christmas buying season, and a November UHD box set isn't out of the question.

MGM has so far been completely ignoring UHD (and mostly ignoring BD for quite a while) so the real question is will they make the jump? Or will they actually license something as big as Bond out to a label? I doubt either is in the cards as soon as next year, but you never know I guess.

I’m pretty satisfied with the current blu-ray set but I’d definitely double dip for a remaster of Goldeneye.

Who released the last Bond set? Fox? Any reason to believe a UHD wouldn't go the same way (ignoring Fox's potential lack of existence and Disney's hatred of anything they don't fully control).
