Hoping the UJBC has matching disc art for Spectre.

I have been waiting for this but now I don't know if I'll wait for the UHD set, since these all had 4K transfers, or just get this set.

I've heard rumors they all have 4k masters now somewhere, but these discs are NOT 4k transfers. Only around 10 of the original 20 movies have 4k transfers, if that. The rest are either 2k or (in the case of the Brosnan movies) ancient DVD masters.

Does anyone know if the features that were on disc 2 of the Casino Royale Collectors Edition were imported to the main feature of Casino Royale in the recent white box collection set? Just looking at the back seems like it to me, can anyone verify?

One night I saw both Moonraker and TND back to back, and I was amazed at how much better Moonraker looked. I guess a big part of it is the transfer but I also think part of it may be that Moonraker was more beautifully shot. One of the reasons I (in general) prefer both the Connery and Moore eras to both the Brosnan and Craig eras is that the former just LOOK better in my opinion.

I believe people have mentioned some stuff that was left off, but it was the more minor featurettes.

What's the difference between UJBC and JBC?

This new UJBC contains Spectre and will have 25 discs in total -- the 25th disc being a bonus disc, which contains the Everything or Nothing documentary -- as well as other things not found in the new JBC. In other words, the bonus disc carries over almost all of the Bond 50's bonus disc content (except the Skyfall Videoblogs), plus a few more featurettes and an excerpted version of the Bond movie poster book. The new JBC contains all 24 movies and really nothing else.

EDIT: In addition, the UJBC contains a Digital HD for each movie. I believe the JBC does contain two of the new featurettes -- The Story So Far and The Shadow of Spectre -- via a digital download code only, whereas they're on the bonus disc with the UJBC.

Yup, from the Bond 50 and UJBC reviews:

Quote:
Missing in action is some of the "Mission Control" DVD material—which, honestly, didn't amount to much anyway—and the Inside: Die Another Day documentary by Charles de Lauzirika. Additionally, the Casino Royale disc included here mixes material from the original Blu-ray and the 2008 re-release. Included are Deleted Scenes, The Road to Casino Royale, Ian Fleming's Incredible Creation, James Bond in the Bahamas, Ian Fleming: Secret Road to Paradise, Death in Venice, Becoming Bond, James Bond for Real, and Chris Cornell Music Video. Unfortunately, we lose the forty-minute Bond Girls Are Forever and four featurettes—Chasing A Plane: From Storyboard to Screen, The Art of the Freerun, Storyboard Sequence: Freerun Chase, and Filmmaker Profiles.

Not just rumours, there are 4K DCPs available for each pre-Craig Bond film (even including NSNA) right up to and including DAD. But you're spot on about the Blu's, there were 9 Lowry 4K remasters done originally (all six Connery's, OHMSS, LALD and Moonraker) and MGM did a silent upgrade for TSWLM but the rest are from older transfers.

Well, to be fair, Goldeneye (at least) should look much better on Blu-ray than it does.

I own "James Bond Collection" with a white boxset and it only 1 disc each movie.

My understanding is that Lowry did new transfers for all 20 bond films they worked on, but only the ones you mention were done in 4k. The rest were 2k scans.

Oh, I'm not saying that Lowry didn't work on the others as part of that arrangement but IIRC the rest were all extant masters e.g. the zoomed-in framing and TV-safe title sequence for the UE DVD of GoldenEye was because Lowry were given a TV master by mistake. Lowry still applied their "process" to clean up each film, but they only did new transfers for the 9 that I mentioned.

This specific one comes with all of the movies on Blu-ray and in Ultraviolet:

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-U...lu-ray/136233/

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-U...lu-ray/159716/

It's more expensive than this one which is just the Blu-ray:

For only $100 more.

Lololololololol.

I have the individual actors sets and I'm glad I upgraded to the one with Craig that included Spectre. Pretty sure he's done.
