Agreed. What people find and buy is not newsworthy and of trivial interest to most readers of this thread, I think.

By the way, "Team America: World Police" is back in print. Sadly, it appears to be the same disc, devoid of extras.

I don't mind people posting finds, especially when it's a situation like Apocalypto and later Twilight Zone: The Movie showing up at FYE almost universally long after going OOP. (Note: Don't get too excited - this was a few years ago!)

And I'm sure this has already been posted, but the OOP Bubble Blu-ray turned up at Dollar Tree a couple of weeks ago. The DVD was there too, which a bunch of us also picked up for the few extras not included on the Blu.

It's a thread about OOP movies and they're talking about OOP movies. Makes sense to me? I like hearing these stories. Plus sometimes people will share with others where they found it and if there are any more.

Where do we go to find out what movies are going out of print? I've missed out on a lot of 80s titles cause they are now out of print. Would be nice to be able to see what is going out of print soon.

They are rarely announced in advance, but this thread is a good resource, and the boutique label threads if you collect any of them, posters will relay information from the companies as soon as its available.

It's a good idea to make an Amazon wishlist and scan it every once in a while for things that aren't sold by them directly anymore. Then you can cross-check that with other sites to see if they're vanishing everywhere, and buy accordingly.

If on Facebook/Twitter/Instagram, some of the boutique labels will announce it or announce to get it quick for limited releases with dwindling stock.
Severin did this last year? When they had a sale on The Baby and some other titles they were going to lose rights on.
Criterion- have announced rights losses in the past
Arrow- FB charts showing stock levels of Limited Release titles.
TT- Low stock alerts sometimes
Kino- announced a few. I know they announced a few because its the only time i order direct from them
Shout/Scream- have announced in the past with several like the Bruce Lee Shout Select titles.

DiabolikDVD- often announce that stock is dwindling, or something is no longer available to order

I cant place an instance of Fox, Universal, WB, Sony announcing their titles going OOP.

I would also favorite or whatever you call it to see all news from the companies you are interested in on FB. My newsfeed on there is terrible, lately it rarely shows me anything from companies unless I do that.

Also good Advise from StingingVelvet

I was out at Movie Trading Company in South Dallas today a noticed that the Thirteen Ghosts / House of Wax Blu-ray has been re-issued. They had 2 new copies in stock for $11.99 with the price label indicating that they were scanned into the store on 08/23/18. Amazon currently has a "Blu-ray" copy listed for $79.99 by a third party, and a "Multi-Format" listed between $13.40 and $19.99.

Also, I managed to get a used UK copy of JFK for $12.99 and a used US copy of Bedazzled for $7.99!

I believe it's only the US versions of JFK that are OOP, not the UK edition.

I keep hoping we'll get a Criterion edition, with both cuts of JFK. I'm not a fan of the added material in the extended cut, and I prefer the final title card in the theatrical cut. The card in the extended cut is thoroughly bizarre, because it talks about how files were released as a result of the film, so the film you're watching at that moment is already in the past tense. I prefer the original card saying none of the files would be released for 75 years, even if it's no longer true, that card had a huge impact at the end of the film and it's how it was originally released.

I was thinking that Shout Factory might release Thirteen Ghosts and House of Wax. Good to know there has been a re-issue. I might pick that up instead.

It does not appear to be a re-issue, as it was never out of print.

The Price Tracker on this site used to be extremely helpful in discovering OOP titles since they would switch from a dollar amount to "n/a" as soon as they were OOP or OOS (out of stock). However, a similar functionality can still be found on the Wishlist if you switch it to the List Vew (the three boxes by the Sort drop-down). In that mode, anything without an Amazon price is currently not available (on Amazon) and may be an indicator of OOP titles.

I'm about a week late to the conversation, but I feel obliged to mention I love reading the stories behind the OOP finds.

I believe Jack the Ripper from Severin should be considered OOP.
