I was always hoping a third one would be done. Hell, he went and did another Fast and Furious..why not do another Riddick?

I agree. Plenty of room to expand...

I thoroughly enjoyed this series... The only issue I had was with the second - It's like out of nowhere, worlds like that existed. It went from a horror-esk first film, to this vast sci-fi universe.

Kind of reminded me of the 1st Matrix compared to the 2nd, if that makes sense.

While I disagree with the Matrix comparison, I do wholeheartedly agree with the "out of nowhere" bit for Chronicles. I really liked Pitch Black, and since Chronicles never really fit for me, didn't like it anywhere near as much.

I liked the second one over the first. I just felt like the story was
'expanded' from the first movie.

Looks like more Universal to add to my collection. Boy, Universal is quickly becoming my fav studio of late, loving that DTS-HD MA. Keep em' coming Universal.

I must be the odd man out. I really enjoyed both movies for what they were. Pitch Black as more of a horror movie based on a distant planet and Chronicles as a pure sci-fi action movie.

That was the intention. To not make the same style of movie twice.

A definate buy. My only question is why did it take Universal so long to release them. Still alot of movies they put on the dud format that we haven't seen yet.

Pitch Black is great, and I never got to see The Chronicles of Riddick.

CoR wasn't as good as PB (imho). A worthy library addition for the scifi genre, but not as good of a movie.
