Default I am looking forward to Pitch Black and Chronicles of Riddick

Mostly Pitch Black but I liked Chronicles too. I like the PC game as well so that makes me want to get it on Blu. The main thing is is that Pitch Black is unwatchable in the daylight on the DVD. Horrible on an LCD. I am glad the website posted some pics so I know what it will look like in the day. Definitely will get it. They should do an Escape from Butcher Bay movie. I havent figured out why not.

What is different in the Directors cuts for the movies? I've seen both of the normal versions.

Quick question... is the 2 pack the same as buying each individually, or are the discs/case/packaging different?

With Pitch Black there is only like 2 minutes added with the Director's Cut. So not much difference.

With Chronicles there is quite a bit added. They show them attacking the planet and the planet defenses/ships going up to intercept, etc.. Kind of cool.

Both are on the way to me. I really loved Pitch Black- not so much Chronicles, but since it's only $12 at that point, I ordered both. Maybe I'll sell Chronicles or maybe I'll keep it.

I watched Pitch Black this afternoon. Having owned the HD-DVD its clearly the same transfer, which is fine as its good. The HD Master audio is obviously a big step up though.

I am now tempted to buy Riddick although I have never thought much of it.

I plan on grabbing the two pack from best buy in the morning... though I am a bit concerned... chronicles is rated PG-13... does this mean all the extra stuff that is on the UNRATED dvd going to be left off on the blu? Kind of suck to wait all this time on the blu to have the extra footage that is on the dvd cut out of it

Why do so many people hate Chronicles of Riddick? I think it's an amazing Sci-Fi movie with an engaging story. I think everyone I know hates it. At first I thought it was because they didn't like Vin Diesel, but they also say they didn't like anything about the movie.

I don't hate it. Actually ended up enjoying the Director's Cut more as it improved on the flow of the story in my opinion. However, I don't like it nearly as much as Pitch Black because it's such a major break from the first one. I enjoyed the movie, the character, and the redemption theme a lot in that flick. This flick is just a straight action/sci-fi movie. It's not exactly done all that well. It feels like it's a sequel just to make another sequel. Even some of Twohy's comments about the movie feel off to me as a whole.

I'm actually glad I got it since it looks a lot better than the lower-budget Pitch Black, and the Director's cut was enjoyable, but if I only had to pick one it'd be Pitch Black by a mile.
