Before anyone asks these titles are likely to be Region-Free. Universal releases in the UK have all been Region-Free except for a handful of titles where the distribution rights in other countries are not controlled by Universal.

This is not confirmed to be true as they could change their policy at anytime, just a heads up for any who may be interested in importing.

Yes, the german editions are region free too. They've already been released, and can be ordered by amazon.de or any other vendor who delivers to your country.
Riddick features a DTS HD MA 5.1 english audio track, Pitch Black too. Both use the VC-1 Codec and Pitch Black looks great, wheras Riddick's PQ is only slightly above average.

I received Pitch Black from Amazon.de yesterday and can confirm that it plays perfectly on a region 1 player. It's 2.35:1 aspect ratio and is awesome!

Awesome news. Can't wait until this is released in the U.S. Pitch Black was one of my favorite movies. Looking forward to seeing this in beautiful Blu-Ray!

They are not out here in the UK yet. I have PB pre ordered with 1st class post option. So I should get it pretty much as quick as anyone else. I have a Region A player so will let you know how it turns out.

Hi Charles, could you confirm the actual running time of the movie ? (not from the back cover, but from the disc itself, please)
Is it the 108' cut or the 112' DC ?

I've got PB in hand.

PQ is about 4.0/5 to maybe a 4.5/5.

Very atmospheric. I think i'm going to watch it downstairs on my region A PS3 so i'll post its compatibility. Needless to say I think its region free.

I'm suprised that they aren't holding back untill they make the new one (if it gets made).

Of course they can always re-release it for people to double dip
