The digital bits http://www.thedigitalbits.com/rumormill.html is reporting that both movies will come out in a few months.

Happens to me all the time, too - anyway, it's still real good news. Bring on more sci-fi / horror BDs!

These will be good to get finally on blu. The transfers on HD-DVD were very good, but they could probably benefit from a re-encode for a better bitrate. I can't wait for "The Chronicles of Riddick" with DTS HD-MA, the sun-storm will sound amazing!

Pitch Black on HD DVD is quite good and I own it. Didn't care for the other movie as much though the PQ is very good as well and I don't own that one. Seeing that I also have the SD DVD of PB, I ain't going to triple dip.

I personally think these titles were some of HD DVDs best releases... I'm assuming the transfer to BD will be fantastic.

FROM THE HDROOM:

Pitch Black and Chronicles of Riddick Escape onto Blu-ray
February 05, 2009

Both Pitch Black and its sequel The Chronicles of Riddick will be available March 31 on Blu-ray Disc either individually or together in a two-pack.

Each film will be presented in 1080p video and 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio, the latter an upgrade over HD DVD. There's a chance D-BOX Motion Code will be available as well though no confirmation has come from the studio as of yet.

As with the previous HD DVD versions, Pitch Black is receiving a more robust and interactive package than Chronicles of Riddick. The bonus features for each film are laid out as follows.

I am not a big fan of Diesel but I love Pitch Black and Chronicles of Riddick. They should make another one.
