Congrats, I am sure you will be hanging around the Mondo booth for a while, correct? You should head over to the Gallery 1988 booth before 1pm (would not be surprised if there is a line there) for Mark Englert's "You Are My Lucky Star" print which is from the first Alien film. I believe its a SDCC exclusive with only about 100 being offered and Mark will be there to sign and number them.

They never do, they go just as fast as a Mondo drop, but Mitch, the guy who runs the site is a good guy and at least gives people a good idea when to expect the drop which is generally around 12pm pacific time. He usually only has a small amount available and the prices are cheaper than secondary prices such as eBay, etc.

So far the only thing tickling my fancy is that Hobbit Comic-Con teaser poster. As far as I know it's full size, though I could be mistaken. Acme Archives has some pretty nice stuff too! How much are tickets if you don't mind me asking? I wouldn't mind attending Comic-Con next year ![]() That lucky star print is amazing! Why did I have to look at it ![]() Last edited by CdnBlu; 07-12-2012 at 07:10 PM. |

I am not sure if you do get tickets if they mail them out to the buyers or if you have to pick them up in-person, etc. SDCC is huge, the biggest convention for comics and pop culture in the world, but there are people who are turned off at how big it has gotten, some saying its very difficult to navigate the crowds, etc. Naturally the biggest days are this weekend, but there are only conventions that quite popular and just as fun in my opinion. Wonder-Con which is generally held in San Francisco and is put on by the same company that does SDCC is a lot of fun and is a 3-day show generally held in March or April (2013 date hasn't been announced) and generally Mondo has a presence there (but didn't offer anything for sale at the 2012 show this year), also another great show is the Emerald City Comic-Con here in Seattle, which is another 3-day show, March 1-3, 2013 is the next one. I have heard really good things about the Phoenix Comic-Con in Arizona which is generally the end of May, the Calgary Fan Expo which I believe you know about, and several others across the country. |

Maybe you can shed some light on that Hobbit giveaway poster from New Line Cinema/Warner Brothers, some would like to know if it is single-sided or double-sided and if its full 27x40 size. My guess is it will be single-sided, but size wise, unsure of, as they have done both full size and mini posters in the past. |

Mondo needs to attend the Calgary Expo. If only
![]() These past 2 years I've gone to Blizzcon it worked like this. 2 Days of ticket sales, you get in a queue, if there's still tickets when you get to the end of the queue, you buy. If tickets sell out while you're in queue, then basically your SOL. I assume Comiccon has something similar that goes down, though I see it being a 100 times harder to get tickets. Blizzcon is just for Blizzard fans, while Comiccon is for a much wider variety of 'nerd' ![]() |

I wiki'd Artist Proof to see if I was out to lunch on my opinions and even there it suggests a run of 20 or more to be 'surprisingly high'. Good on them for indicating how large the AP run was though. I've got another AP print that is signed by the artist as 'AP' but no indication of run... which to be honest didn't surprise me. |

A buddy just called from SDCC, was telling me about the few smaller poster dealers that were offering originals and then the ones that only sell knockoffs and he said a few were doing that and how they get away with it is baffling. We are talking really poor quality stuff that a five year old could tell was printed up themselves. Why people continue to fall for that stuff is beyond me. There is a person on eBay who is doing the same thing trying to pass the bus shelter images for DKR as "international wilding posters" when they are nothing more than print-at-home garbage, yet people are buying it up. It's really quite sad at the sheer number of people who think they have authentic stuff but in reality, don't. |

Now that they have been put on display, I can talk about it. At SDCC there are lenticular bus shelter and one-sheet size posters for The Hobbit. I am unsure if the studio will make any for theaters or if they were only made to be used as promotional material at SDCC but I had heard about this earlier this year. Sounds like they have 3 one-sheet sized ones on display (each of a different character) and two bus shelter sized ones all in the lenticular format.

Don, the Jock Dark Knight Rises poster is on sale at the Mondo booth now if you were looking to get it. Jock will be there until 3pm signing too.
The version at the link below is the same one done by Jock but the villains are added at the bottom and this version is limited to 350 but won't be made for sale, its a free giveaway and only 250 will be given out (I assume the other 100 are being used for something else, going to the artist, etc). I actually like this version better. http://badassdigest.com/2012/07/11/c...-mondo-poster/ Last edited by Kinsella5; 07-12-2012 at 08:57 PM. |

Wow that's not bad at all! Last years Blizzcon tickets were 175 alone, but the goodie bag came with some really cool stuff (Including a Tyrael statue done by sideshow collectibles) and included admission to the closing concert (which were the Foo Fighters last year).
For Blizzcon, the tickets would sell out in May, but the actual convention is Oct 21-22 in Anaheim. Usually a month or so before I would get an email with bar codes. You'd take that bar code to a booth the night before with your picture ID to get your actual badge and goodie bag. |
