SOTD Stout poster:
[Show spoiler]

Reg' is the one with the yellow, which based on the JPEG looks better than the Variant imo.

Default Michaels Poster Frames

Thought i should bring this up....

Michaels is having a special that is buy one get one free on all frames 9.99-229.99, and they have a frame that is 27 by 40 for movie posters, which is $44.99 (complete rip off) but, you get 2 frames for $44.99 with the BOGO.

BUT thats not all.... they have a printable coupon online for 20% your entire purchase *including sale items* so you get another savings of $9...

So that is two poster frames for $36.99, $8 less than the price of one.. A good deal especially if you are trying to be frugal about frames!

I don't think you can do it online.. maybe have them order you some that aren't damaged? They probably would do that.

I have no clue if anyone is interested about this, but I may as well share and while I'm at it get a bit of advice. I picked this original vintage poster of Shane a week or two ago for a great cheap price. I have no clue of the value, if it even has any hardly at all, but I am a huge fan of the film and decided to pick it up. It is, like most posters from this era, formally folded and stored away, creating at least two small holes/tears right in the folds in the middle but I'm still thinking about getting it framed anyway. What would be the best way to deal with and frame this poster?

It is a 1959 re-release poster with a stamp on the back of it which reads "Shane 1 Sh. R66/109".

The same source I picked this one up from also has the three sheet version of the same poster and I'm thinking about picking that one up as well. I'll see about that one...

You should email Dave with Cinemasterpieces.com, he knows a lot about vintage posters. He doesn't really carry much in the way of newer titles but could probably offer you the best advice about how to go about framing an older one-sheet that is folded like yours. Perhaps email him the photos, etc.

Framed up my John Rozum Calvin and Hobbes piece... had the text cut into the top mat and shadowed with the piece below since it is a 3D papercut.... wooden frame to match the "outdoor" setting.

Wow! Great piece, I was a big C&H fan growing up. I have pretty much all the collection books waiting for my girls to get big enough to want to read them. Great frame job.

Edit: Wow... is that a 1 of 1 you've got there? Very very cool!

Thanks for the comments, guys. And that Calvin & Hobbes is fantastic!

I picked these up yesterday. (So I have more reflections and bad photography to share. )

I forced myself to stick to a budget with the Wolverine - the first option was a red lacquer frame inside and a wider matte black frame on the outside, with the glass between, but I'm happy with what I went with in the end.

Detail:

This is my favorite, though. We did a shadowbox on it; there's a half inch of bright red lining the inside of a brushed silver frame moulding, and then just a single black 8-ply mat. Can't wait to get him up on the wall.

Those framed pieces look great, whomever you got that Wolverine advance poster from must be a cool guy. LOL! I am still waiting to hear back from my friend as I think he actually designed and did the art for the Wolverine teaser. I found out the final style was the same poster image but added the credits at the bottom.

It is! John Rozum does hand cut paper collages... just found out about him this year, really love it.

I wanted the frame-up to be "fun."
