Because so many people have ruined that market, so much signed stuff is fake, and it's unfortunate. I can't see myself either buying signed stuff, unless it is something that comes signed such as a signed and numbered print or book that originally was solicited as such, its hard to know what is real and what isn't. If you got those posters signed yourself, then you have done quite well for yourself.

Yeah I totally agree with you, the only way I would ever buy autographs is if they were numbered or authticated by PSA/DNA but people charge a arm and leg for those. $300 for a authenticated PSA/DNA autograph its just not worth it.

Yeah its like the companies that grade a comic book or baseball card, you are paying someone to give their opinion on the condition, which I find laughable. If I have a comic book that I feel is near-mint/mint, who is it to say it isn't? At least I know everything I have signed is legit and either was signed by the celebrity in-person or from trusted sources who have the connections to make it happen.

If I had only bought Apple stock back in 1991 when I was in college. I'd be retired now.... 40 and just watching blu-rays no boss and no annoying people to deal with. Damn I wish I had bought $4000 of Apple stock back then.

Good thing I have 3 of each The Dark Knight Rises posters. 2 of each are for sale at $500 each. That might buy me 4 shares of Apple stock...

Just some I've come across over the years. Nothing special, just ones I like and as you can see, I'm a Star Trek and Invader Zim fan. I really, really need to get on the ball and buy some frames.

This part has me confused....Dark Knight Rises for $500 each???? I doubt you will get anyone to bite at that price, but if so, let me know, I'd have to raise my prices. LOL!

I had a few of those but sold them a while ago, Rhys Cooper did an amazing job on this. Those along with the Alien II (not Aliens, but a second print for the first Alien film) by Ken Taylor were difficult to get as they were only available at the Gallery 1988 show in late 2009 and I believe only 100 of each were made. Congrats on picking one up!

Default Avengers "Final" Style Domestic vs. International

To clear up any confusion, the final style domestic movie poster for "Avengers" is hitting theaters, but there is also an international final style which is very similar, only difference is the wording at the bottom. Both are incredibly rare, most dealers will find it difficult to carry them, I'd say the domestic will be slightly rarer than the international but both will be rare out there on the collector's market. Sorry for the poor quality of the image of the domestic style.

Default Dark Shadows "Final" Style

Regarding the upcoming Tim Burton directed Johnny Depp film based on the television show "Dark Shadows", there is only one official movie poster for it, known as the final style. There was no advance, and there are no character styles either, unless they are international ones, but for the domestic release there is only one poster at this time, and it appears that it could possibly be the only one released.

Wow. I am really not that happy with those Avengers posters. Here's hoping the final movie will be nowhere near the quality of those posters....lol

I kind of felt that way too when I saw the image but when I saw the actual poster in-person I felt it's not that bad. Yes I will admit it isn't the nicest poster ever created but it's not the worst either.

Any word on any posters from Prometheus? I haven't seen any around here. On a side note i saw IGN was giving away some kind of Cabin in the Woods poster for an early screening or something. I really liked it.

There is an advance style, it's been out for months, shows a shadowy image of one of the statues and a small person at the bottom. At WonderCon they had a panel featuring Ridley Scott, and some of the actors from the show, I think it was a last minute thing and those who attended were given an 11x17 lenticular style poster featuring the same artwork. They also one had one for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter as well.

You can find the Prometheus one for fairly cheap on eBay too, here is a link, while I didn't get one, I saw one and they were pretty nice looking:

Thanks Kinsella! I didn't realize the Taylor Alien was sold the same way, no wonder I never see those either.

Maybe Mondo will do a cool Prometheus poster?

Yeah that Gremlins and the Alien one (not the Egg one but the one showing the Space Jockey) were sold at Gallery 1988 for an event, if memory serves me correctly they were never sold online but at the event only, and I believe they were numbered only (not signed), each limited to 100 copies. The Gremlins glows in the dark too.

For those of you are collecting the Mondo/Disney prints by Tom Whalen, Sideshow Toy handles the sales of the variant editions and they just put up more of the Mickey's Service Station variant today, and still have the Wise Little Hen variant. I personally have not been collecting them but got the ping that they added more of the variants today and as of right now, still available.

Here is a link: http://search.sideshowtoy.com/search?keywords=mondo

An update to this at 3:10pm pacific time Sideshow just put up the Disney Tom Whalen "Dumbo" variant as well so as of right now, they have three variants for the Disney prints available on their site.
