Here's a link to the picture (thought I'd put a link instead of embedding since it's a little bigger):

Ultimately I would love to do some sort of random drawing for a poster, I am hoping to talk to some moderators here about it later on down the road for the site as a whole. But for now, my inventory revamp undertaking has been a slow process.

Also for those going to San Diego Comic-Co, Mondo will be there and have exclusive print drops throughout the show. Lots of rumors floating out there, it appears Olly Moss is doing a Batman print or two, Daniel Danger has a few prints that will be offered, talk of another Struzan piece, and more.

Avengers and Toy Story arrived earlier today!

I opened them just to check them out and take a few photos. I was very gentle re-rolling and placing them back into their tubes.

I'm gonna have to look into getting a few of those big 'card' style holders so I can check them out in between framing

You mean top loader sleeves? The ones I use at conventions to display posters are the Ultra Pro semi-rigid ones, they come in size 29x43 so bigger than a standard movie poster and much bigger than Mondo prints, however, they come in smaller sizes too including 24x36 which I believe is the size of the Avengers/Stout Mondo print.

Good news everyone! ....well possibly.

I've found a supplier for the 29x43 toploader sheets. I should be getting an email with prices soon. Maybe start off with about 10 for the Avengers series ones and a few others.

Might also get some 16x20 sheets for the IMAX midnight screening posters. I already have the Avengers one and I'm planning to get the ones for Prometheus and The Amazing Spiderman.

Getting ahead of myself I think seeing as though I haven't seen the prices?

How much should I pay for them?

Congrats, hopefully it won't be too expensive but ultimately the company that is getting them will probably incur a hefty shipping charge which they may pass on to you, but if they are a wholesaler, maybe they get a good deal. Shoot me a private message when you find out how much they are going to charge you.

When you said "10 for the Avengers series ones", did you mean the one-sheet movie posters for Avengers? Remember for the domestic release here in the U.S., there were only two different styles made (an advance, and a final style). I believe the international market saw one or two styles as well. I know that the final style for Avengers internationally was the same as the domestic, only difference was the wording at the bottom of the poster.

Regarding the IMAX midnight screening prints, I have never measured them, I have the John Carter and Prometheus ones in stock, there will be one for Amazing Spider-Man, and don't be surprised if one is done for Dark Knight Rises as well.

I mean for the entire Avengers series. There are 6 movies so I'll get at least 1 for each. Thor and Captain America have more than 1.

I have the Final style Avengers one already which I haven't even taken out of the tube yet and I'm waiting for the Advance one to arrive.

So if I just get 1 for each movie plus the advance Avengers, that makes 7. Will be a while before I start going for the other Thor and CA ones.

I have the final style Spiderman one and I'm going to buy the Advance one any day now. Plus Batman...God...I hope the price is acceptable for the sheets

The IMAX ones are 13.5"x19.5". Watching a couple on eBay for both Spiderman and Prometheus.

First posting of mine in this thread. A load of insightful information, great stuff all around. If you don't mind me asking for some advice: What are the possibilities of framing a poster the size of 120 x 160 cm (roughly 47" x 63")? Or would you frame it in the first place? Thanks.

BTW has anyone here bought from eMoviePoster? There seem to be some really rare posters on there and they sell for only a few dollars...

Well if you are going for the posters for each of the individual films that eventually made up The Avengers, here is a list of the films and how many posters were made for the domestic (aka USA) release that I know of:

Iron Man (2 styles: Advance & Final)
Iron Man 2 (3 styles: Advance, Final, and IMAX Exclusive)
Thor (3 styles: Advance, Final, and IMAX Exclusive)
Captain America (3 styles: Advance, and two finals)
Hulk (Edward Norton) (1 style)

There are a ton of other images posted online by websites that can look like posters, but they aren't. Not every image released online by a studio, etc. is an actual "movie poster" but so many websites report them as such when it's simply not the case. Sometimes the images can be banners, or bus shelter posters, or simply promotional images made up to look like posters, and nothing more. Lastly there are fan-made images that are created by fans who design their own posters and then post them everywhere saying "Check out this new poster for x film!" basically trying to get their work out there and fool people into thinking it's legit when it isn't. Unfortunately web sites still continue to post all of this stuff as "official posters" which only leads to confusing among collectors trying to obtain only the authentic studio-issued ones. And then of course there are those out there who simply pull images (including the fan made ones) off the internet and then create prints/posters for them and sell them to unsuspecting collectors, that is an entirely different story that's been touched on before.

There were also International style posters (same 27x40 size as the domestic styles, in English, double-sided) but featured different artwork for all of the above except Hulk. They are legit studio-issued posters for the international market.

Lastly there were also the Alamo Drafthouse/Mondo screen prints but that is an entirely different collectible and can get quite addicting (and costly too!).

I think anything is possible but framing a poster that is roughly 4 feet by 6 feet would be quite costly. I don't know if it would be recommended, but I am sure it's been done before, I would think it would run several hundreds of dollars to do it right but ultimately transporting that thing back to home would be a nightmare.

Thanks, Kinsella. Exactly, the "transportation matter" was on my mind as well. Don't know if I'm going to consider it in the future but for now I think I leave it where & as it is - on the wall with "tesa Powerstrips". Thanks for your input (also concerning the costs).

No problem. Another option would be to look at plexi-glass instead of actual glass, it may be cheaper to do that route, and probably lighter on the frame as I believe it weighs less than actual glass. If you have a frame shop in your area, get their thoughts on this, inquire what it could cost to have it professionally framed using plexi-glass, which I believe comes in a ultra-violet version to keep the poster from fading, etc.

Happy 4th of July to everyone here on the thread!

So I went to visit a movie poster shop here in town who happen to have these in stock:

[Show spoiler]

Picked up 3 for now. They have a little bit of bend to them, but are pretty rigid overall. I was thinking of putting my mondo posters in them for now until I can afford framing

These weren't too bad, 40 for 3 24"x36".

Any thoughts? How would they hold up against light? Am I better off NOT putting my mondos in them and leaving them rolled for now?

I wasn't going to put them in direct sunlight anyway. Just somewhere they can be viewed every now and again until frame time comes.

I'd put the mondos in there and just keep them out of direct light. The longer you leave them rolled the harder it is to get them flat.

I owe this one to Allforce. Seeing your Robocop in it really set it off. Figured I would give it a shot on LTROI. Museum glass & acid free backing.

I picked up 2 pieces of museum glass a couple weeks ago there @ $50 a shot out the door. Today they had a new price chart and the 24x36 sheets went up to $120 ($72 after coupon). I guess someone caught on. Doh!

No problem, I really think plexi-glass would not only be cheaper to use, but lighter than glass, and weight could cause an issue when hanging. Also, always use two hooks on the wall when framing posters, don't rely on just one, I always use for anything 24x36 and larger. Better to be safe than sorry...
