Picked up 3 for now. They have a little bit of bend to them, but are pretty rigid overall. I was thinking of putting my mondo posters in them for now until I can afford framing

These weren't too bad, 40 for 3 24"x36".

Any thoughts? How would they hold up against light? Am I better off NOT putting my mondos in them and leaving them rolled for now?

I wasn't going to put them in direct sunlight anyway. Just somewhere they can be viewed every now and again until frame time comes.
Based on the photo, those look like the Ultra-Pro semi-rigid sleeves I was referring to. Those would work well for Mondo prints, but you have to be really careful putting them in with regards to the ones that measure 24x36 like the majority of the Stout ones because they can be a tight fit. Some fit perfectly, others have been slightly difficult because it's all in how the print is cut, sometimes they aren't cut perfectly to 24x36 and the sleeves generally are so you have to just work the print in slowly if you encounter that problem and not force it in as you can easily damage the print.

The sleeves come in smaller sizes too for smaller Mondo prints. How is Calgary? I am thinking about setting up at the Calgary Comic Book Expo in 2013, not quite sure yet but have heard it's a great convention.

Wow that looks great, the white matte and frame really makes that print stand out. If I ever get the time to frame my metal Iron Man 2 variant, I need to figure out the best way to frame it. Since it's a sheet of metal, it's not something that I have to worry about fading, but want to take as much care as possible. The paints used I was told are the same type of paints used for construction signs so it's very durable and can't imagine it fading over time.

I'm gonna make an attempt tomorrow morning on the prints. I'm not sure which one to try first, the Toy Story or the Avengers

The smaller one they had was too small for my Lonesome Ghosts print, so I just bought a 3rd of the larger size and will do my best to 'center' it within the sleeve.

I think you would do good in Calgary! They actually had an Avengers movie poster in the shop I went into, though it was only a single sided otherwise I would have walked out with that as well.

I still working on my list of posters that I wanted to get to you, unfortunately it's taking much longer than I expected

Just take it slowly when trying to get the print in the sleeve if the print is the same size as the sleeve. I like to create an air pocket in the sleeve, it tends to help slide the print in. Yeah I am giving some thought to doing the Calgary show next year.

No worries, take your time on the list, message me it when are finished, I am not going anywhere.

Had a vague idea of framing this poster someday, now there's actually a plan - thanks a lot, Kinsella!

I LOVE this print in a white matte/frame combo, I think it looks great. I've been spending my extra money on other things these days, I need to redirect that cash back into framing, nothing beats a good framing.

If you've never been to Calgary before it is worth a visit. Nice city... in the spring summer and fall that is, the winter can be pretty darn cold if you're not use to it. It is also a short drive to Banff if you're up for some beautiful site seeing. Though I suppose you're pretty use to the mountains out your way.

Start with the cheaper one

A couple of suggestions to go along with Kinsella's. Flatten your prints before trying to get them into the sleeve, having them rolled only makes the job harder. Get a friend to help. I inserted mine into the pages of my portfolio alone and it was not a fun thing to do at all. The 24x36 pages like Kinsella said are really tight, you need to do this little shimmy thing as you work the print in. I was actually wondering if a can of compressed air may help the process, firing that into the sleeve from behind while you move the print in.

There's no effective, easy solution to storing multiples, is there? I saw the sleeves but I feel like I'd tear them up trying to get them in. I'm not above buying more frames, but I'm running out of wall space!

If you're talking prints, 24x36, then you can pick up a portfolio to store one. I've done that now while I wait to frame mine. They aren't cheap though. I picked up mine used for $150. Great investment. If you're talking movie posters, 27x40, then you are looking a buying or making a flat file to store them.

Oh and this just in: Mondo is doing a Lord of the Rings line.

MONDO UNVEILS ONE POSTER SERIES TO RULE THEM ALL WITH “THE LORD OF THE RINGS”

Austin, TX— Thursday, July 5, 2012 — Mondo, the collectible art boutique arm of Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, is excited to announce their first-ever print for Peter Jackson’s “The Lord of the Rings,” kicking off a series that will include all films and multiple artists. The first poster in the series, “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King” by artist Aaron Horkey was unveiled this evening at Mondo Mystery Movie X at the Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar.

Why can't they just print enough of these posters so people can buy them longer than 30 seconds after they go on sale?!

If I was to go it would be at the time Calgary Expo is held which is late April, still unsure though, but will do some research about that show, I have heard it's great and a lot of people attend and people tend to spend their money there too.

The why's to Mondo not printing more are many and have been covered before. Frankly the reasons given will never please everyone, in the end, 'it is what it is'.

If you care to listen there are some pretty interesting videos and words found here: http://collider.com/justin-ishmael-m...erview/135370/

I enjoyed them at least.

If you mean storing multiple Mondo prints per sleeve, I would not recommend it, only go with one print per sleeve, especially the larger ones, because they are a tight fit or can be.

A lot of people ask that and it seems the answer is because Mondo wants to keep them as "limited editions", but I understand what you mean. What Mondo has done is pretty amazing going from an underground company that most people had never heard of to pretty much being a household name in just a few year's time, but while they brought in several thousands of new fans, from what I have heard from some of the original collectors of the Mondo prints from years ago, it has become very difficult for them to get a print, because clearly there is a huge demand, but the supply hasn't really changed much. I think eventually you will see them cave in and make bigger names, but also, remember that sometimes it isn't up to Mondo with regards to how many of a print they can produce, sometimes it is up to the license holder, and they dictate how many can be made, etc.

Default Walking Dead Mark Englert Print Tomorrow

Not only is Mondo dropping a few prints in the morning (Iron Giant and King Kong), but Mark Englert is putting up for sale his Walking Dead-inspired print "This is my farm...I'll die here" from season two of the television show tomorrow (Friday) between 9am and 10am here:

http://www.tacobelvedere.bigcartel.com/

I believe this is Mark's third print, his first being based on The Thing, his second was based on Stephen King's It, and is a real nice guy with quite the creative eye. There is a standard glow-in-the-dark Walking Dead print being offered, as well as a variant set. More info can be found here:

http://www.tacobelvedere.com/

Mark has quite a ever-growing fan base and I suspect these will sell-out quite fast. The nice thing about the site is when you add it to your cart, you should be able to get it as it stays in there.
