That appears to be just a SDCC comic-con poster, possibly either a giveaway or something they had on display. Who knows, maybe it will turn out to be the first advance, but right now, its still up in the air. My guess is we will see the first trailer attached to DKR this Friday, and that could mean we see the first poster out in the coming weeks as well.

I'm betting the reason they are doing that dkr olly moss print as a timed edition is because of how expensive getting the DC license was. That print is gonna sell anywhere from 4 to possibly 6 thousand copies and I could easily see it breaking the 10 thousand mark since its a 24 hour purchasing window. His double ghost timed edition ran up to 785 and it was more expensive and only a few hours from what I remember so much like the josh keyes tiny showcase prints look for them to be number something like 8/infinity symbol and no way these get signed by Moss considering he was at SDCC to sign the variant with a 160 or so edition. I like the print and love batman so it's an easy purchase for me with a good price point but it will need a custom frame or mat job at 16 x 24 so anyone going for it keep that in mind.

Yes I suspect this print will see several thousands printed and that is geared towards the collectors, not the resellers. Its a cool print too, but I suspect there will be people who forget, or don't get their order in, or start getting into this prints after the fact so there could be some resale value to them down the road. Yeah the die hard collectors will buy the variant even though the only difference is the size.

It is very unlikely Moss will be signing the standard edition, in fact I would say he wouldn't, since he lives in the UK and they are printed here, and the standard hasn't even been printed yet, and knowing Mondo it probably won't print for a few more weeks after the 24-hour period is up. Who knows, maybe they wont even be be numbered either.

I really want to love that Olly Moss print. Wish there were pictures of the actual print somewhere, that .jpg just isn't doing it for me. My real fear is passing on it and then regretting it after seeing the movie. If anyone comes across actual pictures of it let me know.

Edit:
I just found this over at EB. http://forum.expressobeans.com/viewt...36515#p1536515. Not great but something.

For some reason I don't think they do, perhaps for a variety of different reasons. I could be wrong but you may want to email Mondo and ask them if they ship internationally. I also am curious if Mondo will be limiting it to one per person, or since it is a timed release if someone wanted two, could they order that many, or more? If Mondo says "No" to international shipping, there will be people who will buy multiples to offer to overseas buyers, but the high cost of shipping, and the need for perfect packaging (there can be a lot more hands that an international package goes through than domestically) could steer most people off from reselling internationally.

Personally I think you should go ahead and and get one, reason being is if you regret your decision not to get one, and change your mind, you will miss out or have to pay secondary prices, which will all know will be more than the $40 price. If you get it, and you hate it, then you can turn around and more than likely get your money back by reselling it, especially if Mondo doesn't allow for international buyers to get one. So I say go for it and get one.

In many ways Mondo is damned if they do, and damned if they don't. They have grown so much, but the prints runs haven't grown enough according to some fans, while to the original collectors who were with Mondo from the start, they have difficulty getting prints now with the thousands upon thousands of collectors and resellers vying for them. Mondo wants to keep them limited and I totally can understand that, but if they were to make all of the prints a timed release, it would probably upset a lot of collectors too.
I don't think Mondo's concern is upsetting the flippers, and rightfully so.

If I ran Mondo, I would make every print from this point forward a timed one-day release. This would weed out many of the flippers, if not all, and more people would collect. Mondo would not have to worry about overprinting anything because the print size would be based on how many orders would come through. A 24 hour period is more than enough time for people to get their order in, but as the years go by, there will be more people getting into the hobby, so for some prints, the value of them will rise, but not as fast as they do now, or have in the past.

It's really a win-win for both Mondo and the fans, because would not have to spend hours in front of their computer for the "random drop", they could take their time having all day to get their order in. I think Mondo would actually profit most of all because if they have a print now that is limited to 250 copies and it sells out in ten seconds, it forces those who can't get it to buy on the secondary market and the reseller gets the big profits. I am not against people who resell, I have done it myself clearly, but in order to satisfy the majority of fans, a timed release would be the way to go since technically it would be a 24-hour release, it's not it would be an open ended release or a 7-day release, etc. The prints could still be numbered too, no one would know the amount until after the 24-hour window closes, and perhaps some extras would be printed. So for example, if they did one and it came in at 456 copies sold, they could just make it an even 500, to have some to fill damage or lost orders, etc.

To appease the people who want them to say as "limited editions" Mondo could offer a variant version like they do now, and those could be the random drop ones that people would wait for, so really it's the best of both worlds...standard editions available for 24-hours, variant editions limited to x amount per-determined in advance.

So if Mondo is reading this, I had better get my props for giving them this idea. LOL! I actually have met Justin, and used to speak to him on the phone regularly when a person could actually call in their order. He is a nice guy and he does try hard to make every fan happy.
Greatest post of all time. Preach on, my brother!

You can email Mo here Store@MondoTees.com and he should be able to tell although i'm almost positive they do ship internationally as most countries are included in the drop down menu on the shipping screen. I know here in the US it's $14 to ship but I don't have a clue on overseas prices but Mo usually gets a response back fast if you ask. It's quicker to ask through that email because they rarely answer a tweet.

If only Kinsella had his own limited edition poster company. The man knows what's up!

We should have a contest on guessing the print run.

Hey, does anyone here have the Star Wars Special Edition posters from 1997? Quick question re: double sided ones... are the images on the backs of the posters faded or are the colors as strong as the front?

Coloring is the same on the back as the front, the "faded" backside process started well after that. For example for WB titles, it didn't start until March 2008.

Trust me, Mondo basically started this screenprinting craze and have done an incredible job with turning a small little idea into basically a household name in a few short years, Justin and the crew deserve a pat on their back, and not a kick in their a$$ that some people want to do. Justin's a smart guy, he can't please everyone, but he "wants" to, and that shows passion not only for the industry for fans too. Achieving what Mondo has done isn't easy, they found something that wasn't readily being done and they took off with it, and they deserve respect for doing so. I remember many many years ago I was sitting in Todd McFarlane's comic book store here in the greater Seattle area, and it was just he and I and he knew me from working for the distributor at the time where he would get his comics for his shop and he started telling me all about his idea for a character and how he wanted to be able to do anything he wanted with it, and showed me preliminary sketches, and concept ideas, it was about four hours of talking to him as he signed comics for fans during his in-store appearance, and that character turned out to be "Spawn" which he turned into a household name as well. He had the passion, and damn did he ever have the talent, but he did it, and succeeded big time. I ran into him last summer, he really is one of the nicest guys out there too.

Regarding Mondo, and Justin, I have the same philosophy that they do with regards to my business. Always have, and always will, which is why I like to help people with their poster purchases, so they don't fall victim to the fakes out there, etc. Now if only I would get a website....

I always thought Mondo did not ship internationally, I thought it was just domestic shipping only. Did they change and offer international shipping to places other than Canada?

Default Guess the DKR Olly Moss Print Size Contest!

Household had a good idea in suggesting a "Guess The Print Size" contest regarding the upcoming Dark Knight Rises Olly Moss standard edition that Mondo is selling on Wednesday as a 24-hour timed release.

I say we do just that, everyone gets ONE guess in the form of a posting here on the thread, all they have to do is put whatever they think the number will be, whomever is closest will get bragging rights (for what good that is). Hopefully Mondo announces what the print run comes too after Wednesday. This would just be for the standard, not the variant or any artist proofs they make, etc.

My guess will be the final print run for the standard release will be 1263 copies.
