Yep, same as the SDCC posters.
It just says Man of Steel 2013 at the bottom.

For those of you from Western PA, or the surrounding areas, I'm hosting an event this fall at the Hollywood Theater in Dormont, PA.

It is an art-gallery fused with a secret film screening (yes, very similar to Mondo Mystery Theatre). Everyone in attendance will receive a limited edition signed/numbered poster from artist Brian Holderman as well as a raffle ticket. We'll be raffling off a bunch of the artists work as well as a whole bunch of goodies (over $1000 worth of stuff).

There will be food, a DJ, and of course, the surprise film. More information can be found at our website, Steel City Secret Cinema.

I've always been envious of those who get to participate in the Mondo Mystery Theatre series, and wanted to bring something similar to Western Pa. Tickets are only $22, and they go on sale Friday, July 20th at 7:00 PM.

Not trying to spam, just spreading the word!

EDIT: The Olly Moss Batman The Dark Knight Rises poster will also be one of the raffle prizes, since it's representing the hometown crowd! (a large portion of the movie was filmed here)
This is really a great idea and thanks for sharing. I'm in the Toronto area and it could be a fun road trip. Not sure if I can sell my wife on a 'Weekend in Pittsburgh' as a getaway or not It would be nice if it was a little sooner in October as I would have liked to have gone to a Pirates World Series game

haha, that definitely is a hard sell!

My biggest concern was not overlapping with Pitt, Penn State, and Steeler football games unfortunately. I was torn on doing it on a Friday/Saturday instead of a Thursday... but stuck with the Thursday date in the end.

I'm definitely excited, I have some awesome raffle prizes and a bunch of the work that the local artists are doing will be given away also - it's being set up similar to a Gallery 1988 Crazy 4 Cult series.

My house has prints from Kevin Tong, Delicious Design League, strawberryluna, Patent Pending, Tim Doyle, and a whole bunch of local artists - and I'm a huge movie buff so I thought I would give it a try.

Appreciate the kind words!

Been driving since 5AM and just got home to check the #. I can't believe I was over 4k off! Ha! That number is pure insanity.

I'm glad everyone that wanted one got one. I wussed out but looking forward to seeing the epic FRAME OFF battle between roar and Allforce.

cmatthews11 - I'm in NJ right near Philly and will try to make the trip or at least spread the word. I've been wanting to visit the Monroeville Mall and could try to fit it in with your event. Good stuff man!

Wait a sec so the Frame Off is just between me and roar? The one person who's framing ideas I shamelessly have stolen in my relatively new but rapidly more expensive hobby?

Gahhh I have no shot. Roar did you get that Walking Dead print from Englert? That might be more of a challenge since the odd shape and GID ink could lead to some interesting ideas/strategies. You're right about the TDKR print being a bit limited, we have....black and tan to work with.

Why yes I did pick up one of those... I believe that is a good one to frame up as I have room for it in the theatre I believe. Let's get it on!

Plus we should have it sooner, I don't expect that Moss TDKR print until September at the earliest.

IT IS WRITTEN!

Oh wait now! I don't have his Walking Dead print but I really do like it, plus some of the cast will be here in August. How much hurtin' will the secondary market put on me for that beauty?

roar, I'm sure there's some cool stuff out in Pittsburgh to do. I've always wanted to see where they made Dawn of the Dead. That's a bucket list item. <----nerd.

Oh yeah almost forgot...

I found this on etsy. Thought it might be a cool "framing" option for people that like to change their prints out often. Something like this may have been posted before but just in case:

Says it's strong enough to hold a thin piece of plexi (uv?) along with your photo or print.

and last but not least......"attention Hobby Lobby Shoppers"

Check the clearance + scratch & dent section for massive discounts on frames. You can find ugly ass art in pretty cool frames or ones you can refurbish to your liking. I grabbed a couple from the NJ store for around $7 a piece (16x20 & 18x24). They had bigger sizes too.

Was in the Fayetteville NC store yesterday and those buggers are shrewd. They pop out whatever art/glass is in there and resell them for slightly discounted prices in a framing dept clearance bin.

ymmv

and have a good night guys!

We'll have a Monroeville Zombies hockey jersey (as seen in Zack and Miri Make a Porno) up for raffle!

Hmm, if you're looking to sell it to the Misses, we have the following:
- Phipps Conservatory
- Kennywood Park
- Mon & Duquense Inclines
- Carnegie Museusm

I'm probably assuming she would like things that my fiance likes.

I already go a PM from him, the "Rise" image he was referring to was the on found on the standee and the bus shelter sized posters. I posted images a few pages back of the bus shelter ones as well. I cant recall what page it was here, probably five or six pages back.

Interesting, so teasers for Hobbit and Man of Steel arrived to theaters, same image that was found on the SDCC giveaways too. Hmmmm, some phone calls I need to make.

I knew that date sounded familiar... we've got tickets to go see Kimbra in Toronto on the 27th, so it doesn't look like I'll make this show. Thanks for the suggestions though I have planted the seed incase you put on another one. Keep us posted on the event and I'm sure we'd love to see the print after the show. Make sure you save some AP's for the artist to sell afterwards so some of us out of towners have a chance at getting one.

The only SDCC Hobbit ones I saw on eBay were signed. I don't want to pay 300+ for a signed poster.

No, it sounds like theaters are starting to receiving their teaser posters, the stuff handed out at SDCC were mini posters, not authentic one sheets. The only way to get the Hobbit mini poster at SDCC was some sort of random lottery wristband thing for the panel signing and then those people got on to have signed. I don't believe Peter Jackson participated in the signing event either. The actual authentic theatrical teasers seem to be appearing now in theaters based on Zero Cool's posting.

With any luck, should have this time next week, or shortly thereafter, I have to get update #3 out to everyone on my ML which will be Dark Knight Rises-related, and then update #4 will feature everything else and should follow soon after.
