You add a spacer to the matte to create some distance from the print and glass and it just hangs there. I think the technique looks good on prints with full bleed (I just learnt that term from this forum when TDKR print was released ) and prints where the edges aren't cut sharp but rather have that jagged look.

The 'glue' apparently is 100% reverse-able. I am following this thread on expressobeans.

I will need to take a trip out to the craft stores this weekend to see if I can find all the parts I need.

That's what I figured, I am still shocked at the price people are paying for these on ebay but I can't see them going up a whole lot more and if anything I think they may come down, there will never be a shortage of these prints.

Looks good! I was thinking of something along the lines of this:

Though I would probably go the extra mile and use UV non-glare acrylic

So basically it requires you to tape down your print....um, no thanks. I think I will stick with having prints/posters framed professionally non-drymounted and worse case using spaces at all four corners to keep the frame from touching the poster, but since I have never done that, and have had no problem, I think I will stick what what I usually have done.

So what's the general consensus on framing posters like these yourself? I was just thinking i'd buy an appropriately sized frame for the posters, stick em in there nice and firmly and that's it, good to go. Yes, a somewhat ignorant (read uneducated) thought but i'm hoping to learn a bit more.

I snagged the IMAX TDKR poster with Bane walking away with a smashed bat mask and others i'd like to frame someday in a cost effective (read cheap ) way

That style wasn't the IMAX exclusive style you referred to, it's actual name was the advance teaser style "B". The IMAX exclusive style is this one below, which is the also the rarest of the DKR movie posters:

http://www.impawards.com/2012/dark_k...ses_ver22.html

When it comes to "original/authentic" movie poster styles for DKR, there are four different styles produced for the domestic marketing campaign: two advance teasers known as advance style "A" and advance style "B" and one final style which were produced/printed by Warner Brothers, and the fourth style being the IMAX exclusive version which was produced/printed by IMAX Corporation.

I'm wanting this poster to complete the trilogy on poster, but I'm not paying the eBay prices for it.

Unfortunately because very few were made, the prices should expect to remain high on them. Also, an FYI, and I mentioned this before, this is the first poster in a very long time to feature the same color consistency on the backside as it does the front. It does not feature the lighter/faded backside that original theatrical movie posters have, because the main studio did not print this poster, IMAX Corporation had this poster printed themselves, which is another reason why it is so rare. Realistically its a $200+ poster, I have seen some sell for $500 which is rather high in my book but from a collectibility standpoint its certainly a very rare style.

I'd settle for a reprint, I don't care about it being an original print or two sided. I have a second choice if there never is an affordable option for that image.

I am sure there are legit reprints and non-legit ones already floating out there.

I never referred to it as IMAX exclusive though, just that that's the poster i got and where it came from, my local IMAX . I really liked the Bane IMAX poster that was done with a black and white colour scheme. I'm not fussed about getting the above style as personally i won't be spending that much money on it

Apologies if it came across any other way than being helpful in mentioning which was the exclusive style to IMAX. I agree though the Bane style walking away from Batman was quite nice, all the posters were.

Got a few more Mondo signed at Monstermania this weekend. Doug Bradley, Ashley Laurence, Lou David and Tom Savini. Clive Barker cancelled due to health reasons but hopefully one day...

[Show spoiler]

Thanks! Either that or take over my wife's room.

Picked this up at lunch today. The last of my unobtainable "wants". A pain in the ass to get but it was cheap! I'm in love.

Agreed! It messes up the print and devalues it...
