I'm just writing one up now. This is my first movie poster ever! They definitely need some sort of protection in the ends of the tube. Too much movement caused some bouncing around which led to the eventual damage.

I offered up my services to them on how to properly package up a poster using minimal effort and they wouldn't listen. Since I have 20+ years of packaging experience you would think they would want to listen to lessen the amount of complaints from customers but clearly they don't seem to understand the important of proper packaging or to keep their customers wanting to come back. Once someone how has a bad experience they are reluctant to go back to order the same product. If they cant fill a replacement, they should credit your points back to you.

A follow-up to my previous post... I got the pictures hung this evening. They look pretty good, I did manage to snap a couple of poor quality iPad pictures, at least its something, right?

The prints are in the room outside of the theatre. I'd like to call it my 'lobby' but the truth is that it is pretty much the kids play room. You do have to walk through it to get to the theatre though so I will get way more enjoyment out of my prints in this room than in the portfolio.

The way they package up posters is basically how theaters get theirs too. I tried to explain to Disney's customer service about how they package their posters and offered up my services but they wouldn't listen. Clearly having customers complain time and time again is something they would rather prefer than actually correcting their issues. It is unlikely they will change and continue to toss a poster into a tube so it shifts from side to side, causing edge damage and using poor quality tubes so they can easily get crushed. They dont look at it as a collectible, they just assume its an item someone will tack to their wall, perhaps for their kids, etc. It's really a shame but the one who gets the brunt of it is the consumer.

That Stout Thing print would look better if it was up in place. I think you should sent it to me.

Looks good what you have going there!

Nice pics Roar.

Have any of you guys submitted your framed pictures to Mondo for thier blog?

They hinted that they will be dropping some more horror related prints in October, hoping to see something I want.

Thanks for the feedback everyone, 5 more prints to frame!

I submitted a picture of my theatre with a couple of Mondo prints in it but it also has a non-mondo print in it so I don't know if it will make the cut for their 'We've been framed' blog posts.

Just started getting into posters.
My first full size poster came today and it looks great , but it doesn't fit the frame.

It is a 27x40 Frame and a 27x40 Poster with about an inch left at the bottom.
Im not to fussed at the moment but just wondered whats the best way to go about getting posters framed?

Some original posters are 27x41.

Not even going to tell us what poster you picked up. Come on, we don't judge what others add to collections.

Posters prior to about 1994 were 27x41, post-1994 are 27x40 but even still, originals can sometimes not be exactly 27x40 inches in size, which as you are experiencing don't go well with pre-cut 27x40 frames. In those cases, it really comes down to custom framing.

+1 to the poster ratings, didn't know there was a poster tab on top. Still new to the site.

Question

Has anyone who pre-ordered the Firefly 10th anniversary print from Qmx gotten a shipping confirmation? I was under the impression it was shipping on the 20th.
