Thanks for the kind words fellas.

@ cmatthews11 - I just noticed your eBay ID in your sig. and realized you bought my Domaradzki NotLD print a while back. Small world. Glad it went to a good home.

I am actually setting up there and just found out that I may have my booth in the actual area where the celebrity guests are, so getting over to Carpenter may be easier than originally planned for me. I have the Mark Englert Thing print he did and would love to have that signed.
Thanks.

Carpenter's signature is somewhat of an oddity IMO. From what I've seen its never the same twice. Call it strange or collector's OCD but the fact that its more or less impossible to validate and the fact that Carpenter himself loathes doing the actual signings themselves actually keeps me from wanting it.

Personally, I've never much liked that one. It just isn't one of Stout's strongest.

I have 2 Stouts myself, Inglourious Basterds and Assault On Precinct 13. The first is starting to get more expensive now, but the 2nd inexplicably isn't. It boggles my mind however, that so many Stouts have become so expensive these days. When I bought my first one, IG (won in his lottery), back in 2009, they were mostly going for $200 - $300 which I thought was expensive, but since then, for example, Stout's The Thing has skyrocketed to approximately $2000. Sheesh.

One of these days I have to get my posters framed, but I really want to send them to Corey at Further Frames in Denver. His frame work is incredible.
Blade Runner is actually one of my favorite Stout's.

I have 8 Stouts myself - Big Trouble in Little China (getting framed,) Blade Runner (framed,) The Road Warrior, The Star Wars Trilogy, Kill Bill (framed) and The Avengers. I plan to get them all framed over time but its a slow, expensive process.

It was a "timed" release which means instead of Mondo dropping a limited amount online at a random time they announced they would take orders for a 24-hour period and after that time, that determined the print run size. As you can expect, they moved a ton of the prints to satisfy demand and pretty much to make everyone who wanted one happy since it was Batman and Olly Moss, and as to be expected a good amount of them went up on eBay right when the 24 hour period was up. They only came numbered, and you can find them on eBay for under $100 as it is fairly common and easy to find. Nice print though. I believe it, along with Blade Runner are 24x36 inches, the others are smaller.
Blade Runner has shot up in value considerably over the past year or two. I feel very fortunate to have snagged a regular (which I much prefer to the variant) before prices skyrocketed.

As for the measurements on BR (and several of Stout's earlier prints) it was actually slightly larger than 24x36". I believe it was 24.5".

I can't remember if I shared the pic here but I framed mine last year.

True but if you had it signed in-person, it really only matters that you met him and had something signed, not having to prove anything to anyone. But of course, a photo snapped of him signing something always helps too. I am a huge fan of The Thing, would love to hurry up and win the lottery so I can have him sign a Stout Thing print.

True some of the earlier Stout pieces were slightly larger than 24x36 inches and some, not realizing what they were doing or what they even had, actually trimmed down their prints to fit 24x36 frames, which now people are regretting it big time. I can't recall if all of the earlier Stout prints were slightly bigger but I know The Thing was, so those who are eyeing older Stout ones make sure to ask the seller if it has ever been "trimmed" because those that are trimmed are not as valuable as those that haven't been. Your frame/matte jobs are quite impressive, I bet they all look great up on the walls in your place.

Forgot you had that Mondo Halloween print, nice move getting it signed. I remember hearing how Mondo got kind of in a bit of trouble over that screening and print. I believe 150 were made but were released when they weren't supposed to but everything got worked out. Still remember the day that and the Nightmare on Elm Street print arrived, the stench of printer ink was so strong I had to leave them in my garage for about a week.

Regardless of what the framer says, do not let them dry mount it whatsoever, because by doing so it will devalue your print, poster, etc greatly. Simply have it loose between the glass (or plexiglass) and the backing of the frame. Whenever possible use acid-free backing and matte board if you have your piece matted. If there is a lot of sunlight that comes in, perhaps go with UV-glass (or UV-plexiglass).
Thanks for the tip. Will do.

I'm surprised you don't buy up alot of Mondo prints and sell them yourself, Kinsella. You would make a nice profit. And save me the trouble of finding prints i want on espresso beans. Haha.

Well to be honest, I do buy up some now and then and resell, but also have some to collect. But the prices on some jump up so fast in value, it can be a turn off to some.

Yeah seriously. It's scary seeing the original price of $40 for some prints then seeing $300 current prices. Especially the Blade Runner print i want.

Question guys; is Twenty-Eyes suppose to send you a confirmation order after you buy from them? I bought this print yesterday- http://www.20eyesco.com/content/all-...uk-horror-thon - and i never got any receipt of the order. It's not in my order history either.

I've never bought from them before.

That is pretty common actually, $300 for a hot print within a day or less after it sells out is the norm, not always the case, but for hotter more in-demand prints, it is. Take a look at Akira from the Mondo Mystery Movie, that print was $40 or $50 the night of the screening, the next day it was fetching over $1000. But that was a very hard print to get regardless, since it wasnt sold online and people had to go to a mystery movie all the way to Austin, no one really knew what to expect.

Default Well folks...I did it. James White "The Thing" Print.

James White is an incredibly talented artist, and months ago I saw a print that he did for The Thing, however due to licensing issues I believe, he only produced two of them, each numbered/signed by himself. I saw #2/2 on eBay many months ago and it sold for around five hundred. I didn't think I would see the other until today, and I decided to pull the trigger and treat myself, something I rarely do. I am guessing it was just put up recently and saw someone had made an offer that was pending about an hour or so ago, so rather than making an offer myself, I felt I better go all in and grab it.

This will be a nice print to have Carpenter sign at the end of April so I figure "you only live once", link is below in case anyone hasn't seen this print for the film yet:

Yeah, I suppose I understand the appeal behind having things autographed, for me though I guess its just not that important.

IIRC the only Stout pieces larger than 24x36 were The Thing, Big Trouble in Little China and Blade Runner.

Good point about being cautious re: trimmed prints too. Though I will say, if you plan on framing the piece buying a print that has been trimmed can be a non-issue and a great way to get a rare/expensive piece at a significant discount.

Thanks for the kind words. I really enjoy the framing process and once they're up on my walls I really appreciate all the time and money invested. I have a couple more frame ups in the works presently, one being my Stout Big Trouble in Little China and the other is Bertmer's Night of the Living Dead. Easily the two most ambitious projects I've had done yet. NotLD should be done in a week or so and is going to be something real special.

BTW congrats on obtaining that James White The Thing. One of the best prints based on that film out there IMO. Real shame it didn't go into production.

Yeah I remember seeing the other one on eBay that sold for $500+ I believe so when I saw that this other seller was offering #1 I decided to go ahead and get it. Due to licensing issues I guess James only produced two of them and he had originally offered #1 on eBay and the guy who bought it put it up on eBay due to some bills he had to pay. Hopefully John won't have an issue signing it, I can't imagine he will.

Thanks, I rarely treat myself but when I saw it and knew only two existed and the likelihood of James printing more due to licensing issues I was told was very slim, I felt I better do it because #2 had sold months ago and unlikely that buyer would part with it, so I figure this would be my only chance. The seller did mention that he had it on EB for a slightly letter price but through eBay I could add it to my Bill Me Later account and pay it off over six months. LOL! Yeah, I really think James nailed it, but the Stout Thing is still at the top of my list.

Sometimes you just have to treat yourself.

That's a great poster to get signed. Some nice areas where the signature will fit in. The Stout Thing on the other hand is almost too busy.

Default Tyler Stout/Ken Taylor Mondo Show

For those curious about the Tyler Stout/Ken Taylor Mondo art gallery show which started today, and runs through April 6th down in Austin Texas, there are two great sites showcasing each artist's contributions to the exhibit which started today:

Ken Taylor's prints can be viewed here:
http://collider.com/ken-taylor-watch...-poster-mondo/

Tyler Stout's prints can be viewed here:
http://www.slashfilm.com/exclusive-t...ete-and-drive/

I believe the metal and wood Stout prints are exclusive to the event, and probably won't be offered online as Mondo doesn't like ship metal/wood variants.

I am thinking a silver sharpie right above the title next to John's name. I was also thinking of going with a gold sharpie too, but lots of silver tones on the print and then it appears James signed and numbered it in silver so was thinking of keeping it clean and sticking with silver.
