Hi Wes, sorry for no updates, I can't believe I have been this busy/lazy but I am still working on inventory and doing that in between other events in my life. Newest posters are the teaser for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1. I saw that MoviePoster.com sold out of them at $55, good for them at getting that price too, but I still charge $25 at this time. Harder poster to find than most people think. The "Final" style should be hitting within the next few weeks I am hearing. November should see the advance teaser for Green Lantern since the trailer is supposed to hit around Thanksgiving. Should see another style for Tron Legacy hitting soon as well. A customer asked about the True Grit re-make by the Coen Brothers, will be an interesting movie, but nothing on the posters that I know of just yet.

Do I know him in the sense that I hang out and see him? No, not at all. But I had met him about three times when he was in town here in Seattle, and did spend some time riding around in his golf cart. A super nice guy, glad I could help him with his posters too. LOL!

Don't let any one tell you otherwise, original authentic Avatar movie posters were quite difficult for dealers to get, but that is the case for most movies released by 20th Century Fox. Some dealers had the advance, or final, or both, but more than likely in a small quantity. But of course, there are plenty of reproductions floating around (even in the 27x40 size) and it would not surprise me at all if double-sided reproductions are out there too, and I think everyone knows that I mean by that statement if they read all my posts in this thread.
![]() But with regards to Avatar, yes, I do have the advance teaser in stock, double-side,d but unfortunately mine have some slight damage to them. I was able to get some in but they were not packaged that great and have some slight dings running down the middle of the poster. I noticed MoviePoster.com, whom I have mentioned is a good fellow poster dealer, has damaged advance styles as well that they charge two hundred dollars for. My price is over half that, so inquire via email if you are interested. I do have one, and one only, of the large bus shelter-sized original movie poster. These are what you see at bus stops, or at malls, and they aren't printed on poster paper but a thicker type. They are roughly 46 x 72 inches and feature the same image as the advance teaser. Now here is the super cool part. I got to meet director James Cameron in late August when he was in town and chat with him briefly. While he normally signs one item, he graciously signed a few of my Avatar advance teaser posters, and one of them will be auctioned off for charity supporting the Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington State. He signed them in silver Sharpie quite boldly so they look really nice and a unflattering photo of me with him will accompany it and a Certificate of Authenticity too. We spoke about the upcoming Blu-ray release of Aliens, and I inquired about an eventual Blu-ray release of The Abyss, which was mentioned here on Blu-ray.com linked from the fabulous Digital Bits website that Bill Hunt posted yesterday. Meeting James Cameron was quite a highlight because I have been a big fan of his work since I saw The Terminator in theaters back in 1984 when I was 13 years old. Taking the time to sign multiple items for me was something he didn't have to do but he wanted to, and wanted to help support the Memorial as well. I will not be offering it until I have mentioned it in an upcoming update for those on my mailing list, but will probably offer it on eBay to try and bring as much money in for the charity as I can. |

This isn't limited to Disney Club, etc, but the majority of people who sell posters on eBay, etc. Even some dealers too. What people need to understand is placing a poster in a tube, and slapping a label on it is not enough. You have to assume and expect that tube to be dropped, kicked, stacked on, thrown, etc from it's journey from the seller to the buyer. I had a friend use his points for a poser from Disney Club, and it took three posters being sent out before it arrived mint. I looked at every tube, and while the first tube was damaged, thus damaging the poster, the second tube was fine, but tossing the poster in it with no protection of the sides will cause the poster to shift from side to side, bouncing off the inner sides of the caps, which also were not even taped down. You see companies like this, if they would only listen to someone such as myself who knows ahead of time how to package up posters, could cut down on their customer returns, could cut down on the replacements they need to send out, etc. I emailed them letting them know how they could reduce their complaints and damages but it more than likely fell on deaf ears to speak. Condition of the poster is key. Packaging of a poster though is equally key. I package posters how I would want to receive them. When I send something that is near-mint/mint, I do my best to make sure it arrive that way, and if it doesn't, then the package is always insured as a safety net. |

![]() I'd still like a Machete poster... although I don't know what the actual movie posters look like? I wish they went with the Grindhouse one, that one was sick! ![]() |

Everyone is different but I tend to stick with original posters only and avoid reprints. If you are on a budget reprints are great.
I buy the poster frames from Hollywood Poster Frames as you can get archival frames with acid free backing. Here's one of my framed posters ![]() |

I didn't know Harrison did private signings, was that how you got it? |

The trailer for Green Lantern will be attached to HP7 and the teaser poster should hit theaters around the end of November is my guess as well. |

Nicely done Rusty, if you are anywhere near Seattle at the end of this month is the ZomBcon with Bruce Campbell and others from Evil Dead in attendance, I bet they would get a kick out of those and sign them as well.

I'm currently on the hunt for the Japanese "Enter the Void" poster here, and this "Monsters" poster here. EDIT: Found this listing on a site called moviepostershop but I don't see any way of verifying a poster's authenticity from the information given. Would very much like to get the opinion of someone on this site. Btw, if you haven't seen Enter the Void yet, do it now. Any way you can. Right now. ![]() MoviePosterShop is also known as MovieGoods, they are the same seller, and 99% of the posters they are selling are reproductions. Would be a lot easier for collectors if they simply stated they were reproductions (yes even the 27x40 ones) on their site, but they don't, and unfortunately a lot of collectors who are new to this hobby think just because a poster is 27x40 makes it an original and that isn't true. It just to be that simple, but thanks to dealers like that, not anymore. I personally don't recommend them for originals, I actually don't even recommend them for reproductions either. |
