I know this maybe a long shot, but does anyone happen to work at a movie theater or something and could get me a Bling Ring poster, I will ship a tube to you and pay for shipping. I don't know where else to get one. Please + thank you!

I had some of the Iron Man 2 Stout metal prints, but just have one left, and what I can tell you about the metal prints is they are much nicer in person, photos can't do them justice. D&L uses a high grade paint, the same type of paint used on roadside construction signs so they are quite durable. They also are fairly lightweight, and are quite smooth too to the touch.

The Ansin Man of Steel will sell out very fast, not only because it is a beautiful print but this is the first time since the Stout Robocop metal that Mondo has been willing to ship them out. After the Robocop one, the metal prints required people to go to Mondo directly to get, unless that changed, I don't recall a time when Monodo shipped the few metals that have been produced since the Stout Robocop one. Now, with Man of Steel, everyone has a chance, and a large number of people will be trying for one, regardless of the price. So expect these to sell out in a few seconds, or just as fast a regular hot print release.

It is 8:15pm pacific time as I type this, crappy Comcast is out at my house for no reason at all despite it being a beautiful day in Seattle, so I am down at a local Starbucks.

For those of you who want to put a guess in, please do ASAP, just post your guess for how many Ansin Man of Steel standards will be printed. You can put in your guess up until 10pm pacific time Sunday evening.

I have no problem with people wanting to revise their guess, but I do think having the winner be the closest is fair and it sounds like having it in either direction would be best. I mean, seriously, we probably are all going to be way off, but someone will win. I will ping every via private message and get their thoughts on perhaps the $2 donation and then the winner gets a prize, probably a digital gift card or something so they can use it right away. Maybe we can then revisit doing this again later down the road.

In the event that two people win, we will figure something out.

Here is the current "guess" list so far:

Guiness7 (7500)
Hellboy (5000)
Trashstar (13,750)
Kinsella5 (14,738)
Househead (16,666)
CdnBlue (11,635)
Adam_WM (17,876)
Lpnaz480 (15,325)
grooveska (12,150)
roar (9966)
orbital (11,832)
nelfien (19,390)
Kraken (10,796)
Pistol Pete (16,913)

I have never heard of that film but my advice to you would be if you see one hanging at a theater, ask the manager first. Most theaters wont give them away, but sometimes you can luck out as it has worked for a few people on this forum even. It would save you money by doing this first, just ask a manager and see what they tell you. Since it doesn't appear to be a big release, they may just give it to you when they are done or maybe have an extra one they aren't using.

I believe the first wood variant was a Star Trek one, I think it was an Ansin one, maybe for one of the Star Trek episodes. I also think there was a wood variant for the Dracula print by Ansin that roar mentioned above.

I tried this the other week and they said they couldn't and then two days later my friend asked a friend that worked at the same theater and they said that they threw it out the other day. (oh this was for the Oz poster).

I'm not a gambling man, I was really just guessing for fun! If y'all want to do the 2 dollars, that's fine but count me out. In the event that I'm closest, whoever comes in second can clame the prize. No hard feelings, it's just a personal choice. It will be interesting to see who is closest though!

Just ordered my timed Man of Steel poster. At least we know they have sold 1.

AND to prove, once again, that people don't read well, there are people buying them on ebay already for 3x as much... on an open edition.

No worries, I am going to PM everyone and if everyone feels the same, it's cool and we just make it bragging rights.

Yeah I noticed that the other day, people were paying 2x to 3x like you said. Technically though because the prints won't be shipping for over 30 days, if someone wanted, they could have all the auctions removed because eBay has a 30 day pre-order window, meaning any item offered for pre-order has to ship to the customer within 30 days. The prints won't start shipping until the end of July. It isn't surprising that people are paying that much and what I think will happen is more and more people will put them up there and it will drive prices down. There are a lot of people who don't know about the Mondo print craze or the timed release.

But at the same time, you really can't fault the sellers, if someone is willing to pay that without knowing it is a timed release, then oh well. Someone even put up an auction stating its a timed release and for people not to buy from eBay sellers, but chances are that will get reported by the very same people that are selling them.

My "guess" is this one could either drop with twenty minutes after Mondo opens at 10am central time, or it could be one they make people wait quite a while for. I am going to say between 10:37am and 10:52am central time.

It did seem that the Taylor's dropped quite early yesterday compared to other drop times.

Monsters was shipped after Robocop. They actually took it outside and shot it plus they did other things to give it a distressed look.

Yeah, I remember that print, and forgot that it had come out in late 2010 and was one that Mondo would ship, but the metal ones that came out before it in 2010 (Terminator 2 by Taylor in early 2010 and Iron Man 2 by Stout in the middle of 2010) were in store pick-up only, no mail orders were accepted, with the IM2 one celebrating Mondo's remodeled store when they were inside the Alamo Drafthouse theater.

But at least Mondo is now offering metal prints again via mail order, so I think that Ansin steel is going to go very fast today....
