Earliest drop I recall was Captain America, that was like at 9:30AM EST... it was awesome! Oh the crying that ensued about how unfair life was for all the west coast fans! It was pure chaos! |

I think what is safe is 2 hour window to be generous, from 8am-10am pacific time (which is 10am to 12pm central). I will be surprised if the Ansin metal drops after 10:15am pacific time, it's already 9:30am here, it will probably drop within the half hour but then again, it may not. I think Roar is right, I think that 20,000 Leagues Taylor one was one of the ones that dropped the latest. |

Agreed... I have no problem with completely random drop times. The hard core people have their refresh monitors running all day, no stopping that. My biggest beef with the whole process is that Mondo hasn't put a captcha in place. It is the easiest thing to do and keeps the script kiddies out of it. There is not a single doubt in my mind that there are plenty of scripts being run to obtain these prints and with no captcha to stop them they are just about guaranteed to land one.

I would not be surprised if Mondo makes everything a timed release, maybe for a six hour window, or a 24 hour one, or even longer like the Man of Steel one. This still means they are limited in nature, but appeases everyone who wants one, and then it will pretty much kill off the flipper market. The amount of money made from this release is going to be staggering, most probably will go to the studio, but Mondo will be reaping a good chunk too. And a large number of fans should be happy because they have three days to order one. |

I need to shower actually. I did notice that eBay buyers finally got wise regarding the standard Man of Steel Ansin, sellers are all trying to compete with one another which is driving the prices down, some buy it now's on there for about $85 or so. Since each print is $65 shipped for domestic buyers, at $85-90 a print, there is a few dollars profit at best when taking into consideration the eBay and Paypal feels. If people are that hard up to go through all of that for a few bucks, more power to them. At least word spread fast that people can get them for $50 through Mondo this weekend. Still, eventually down the road, someone can probably resell for $100 if they wanted, but I can't see them fetching much more than that. Collectors should be quite happy with that release.

Ok, an update to the "Guess the Martin Ansin Man of Steel Timed-Release Print Run" contest. Decided to nix the donations/prize for the winner, felt it was probably violating some sort of rule here as it could have been looked up on as gambling. So the winner will get bragging rights only.
Here are the members and their guesses of what the standard print run will be. If you want to play along, just post your guess and I will update the list. You can guess up until 10pm pacific time this Sunday evening as that is when Mondo stops taking orders. If you want to change your guess, today (Friday) is the only day you can do that. Maybe later down the road we can find some prizes for future contests but for now, you can be the king bragger if you guess within 100 prints over or under. Here is the current "guess" list so far: Guiness7 (7500) Hellboy (5000) Trashstar (13,750) Kinsella5 (14,738) Househead (16,666) CdnBlue (11,635) Adam_WM (17,876) Lpnaz480 (15,325) grooveska (12,150) roar (9966) orbital (11,832) nelfien (19,390) Kraken (10,796) Pistol Pete (16,913) Bobaj (4750) Last edited by Kinsella5; 06-14-2013 at 10:41 PM. |

I don't think AP's are made for the metal prints, I could be wrong, but I don't know of any metal AP's in the past, I can't imagine that changing, but you never know. I had heard a rumor than 100 of the 130 were being offered, but again, consider it a rumor. If only 130 are made, and no AP's, then I would imagine some at Mondo would want one, some who work on the film would get one, and the artist would get some as well, so that would mean technically not all 130 would be available for purchase during today's drop.

Yes the Moss one was the first timed release, this Ansin is the second and I agree, there will be the ability to get these MoS standard at or close to cost for quite some time.
