The whole set is priced at buy 5, get 1 free... FYI.

Also, I was thinking... 12x24 frames are not really common, so you could always put 3 each in 2 24x36 frames. A little mashed together, but a very inexpensive framing option.

Has anyone here purchase any framed posters from AllPosters before? If so, were you happy with the product. I have convinced my wife to let us put vintage style movie posters in the livingroom and I just want them to look classy. Were you happy with the frame they used? Did they arrive in good shape?
Thanks

Just got my hands on this beauty, in the Mondo style, by ex-Mondo artist Tim Doyle. Can't wait to frame it.

It looks good... a little 'Stoutish' but I like it. Any idea if it is licensed?

Hey, just received my first Mondo print and want to get it professionally framed. What should I be telling the salesperson when I go in for a quote? I'm sure this has been asked before but quit searching after the first 150 posts haha. Thanks!

Even though I live in Seattle, where we don't get as much sun as other cities such as Los Angeles, etc, I believe in using UV glass. All of my posters that are framed are done so professionally by a local shop, as the owner does amazing work and I am always pleased with every poster she has framed for me and she is the only one I trust to handle my posters. But there are some less expensive UV-frames out there, but not sure if those are true UV glass or a UV-like plastic substance. Because I don't use anything but professional grade metal frames, UV glass, and acid-free backing board.

If you go the route of having a poster professionally framed, what I tell all my customers to make sure you inform the framer that the item you are having framed is a collectible. Explain to them that it is a original movie poster, as they may assume it is simply a reprint. Also make sure you tell them you do NOT want the poster dry mounted (which is the process of taking a poster and applying it to a styroform backing via an adhesive spray). That is done to remove ripples, etc, BUT when you do this, it is a permanent process and the poster then becomes worthless. Simply have the poster loose between the backing of the frame and the glass.

Regarding the backing, it is worth it to pay for the acid-free backing board which will feel rough to the touch and slightly off-white in color. If it is smooth and shiny, it is acidic so make sure it will feel slightly coarse when you run a hand along it. Over the years acidic mattes and backing boards can cause the item to yellow or discolor from the backside.
I've quoted a post from Kinsella5 (one of our resident poster experts in this thread ). It should answer most your concerns, if you've got more fire away!

Other terms used are "archival" or "museum" framing. If you ask your framer to do that it should include all the above mentioned precautions, but what can't be stressed enough is that they do NOT dry mount.

I was away for awhile, this thread has slowed up, but then again generally the end of summer is like that for movie posters. Hope all is well with everyone here...

It is and hope all is well with you also Kinsella and everyone else who post in here. I haven't bought a new movie poster in a few months and have been focusing on art prints and framing both of which are hefty on the wallet.

Please do grooveska! I bet that thing is a beauty in person and can only imagine how exciting it must have been to get it delivered.

Very slow on my end. Back at school now so I've cut my spending down substantially. Probably should have did that halfway through summer

But after 2 long months of waiting, this baby showed up today:

Hope all is well for everyone!
