That was good enough for me, I now know that they only sell reprints.
That doesn't surprise me one bit. You should have then said to them "Why do you sell 27x40 sized posters which are clearly reprints then, but you don't state them as such? Is it to confuse collectors, both new and old that what they are ordering "could" be an original when in reality it is a reproduction?" Someone on staff to authenticate the items? Why would they need someone to do that if they were catering to those who "decorate their walls, not collect" as they said? What they SHOULD be doing is clearly stating "Reproduction" on their posters, but they don't. "Why not?" is a good question.

Reminds me of a certain scene in the film "Tommy Boy" when Farley is pitching his companies brake pads about taking about how he could take a dump in a box and mark it as "guaranteed" to me.

Curious what their "response" would be if someone was to ask them if their reproductions are officially licensed by the studios, or something other?

I've asked many different ways about if they sell authentic or fake posters and their reply is always to the effect of "our outside suppliers just send us what they send us, we only know the condition of the item."

Wow, their response is quite laughable. Any legit dealer knows if their product is authentic or not, well any HONEST legit dealer that is. They clearly know if their product is authentic or reproductions, they are trying to side step the question, good lord talk about stooping to a new low. In "my" opinion, their stuff is being mass produced in a building somewhere, in hopes the studios don't pay attention to them.

Finally was able to get the Advance Captain America 2 poster at a price I wanted. $17 + $17 shipping.

Got the advance and final posters for IM3. Got both Thor posters. And now I have the advance for Cap 2. All domestic versions. Phase 2 collection looking good.

Congrats, dealers are having an incredibly difficult time carrying all of those mentioned above, well "legit" dealers are that is, I am sure reproductions can be found quite easily. Now all you need is the Iron Man 3 "IMAX" exclusive style if you don't already have it, those are very hard to find.

Yeah, I had plenty of chances to get the IMAX version but unfortunately they were just too expensive for me.

Also, tomorrow I'll be getting both of those Cap 2 posters I posted about the other day from a guy in Sydney who gets posters from a local cinema and he's also got the first Thor poster and a Wolverine (version 4 on impawards).

All for $8 each. I just remembered I already have the version 4 already from my local cinema. Can't remember the condition though. But they're so insanely hard to get so I'm not sure if I should get it.

There's another seller I've got lined up in NSW selling 4 Wolverine posters (3 of the version 4 and one version 2 on impa) but they were used in a cinema so they've got some edge wear and corner creases. He's selling them for $10 each. I'll consider getting the version 4 ones at a later time but I'll definitely get that version 2 one.

Still in search of a Django AP or Django Wood Variant.

Though I probably won't spend anymore money until I'm finished school for the year.

Though, If anyone picked up one of Dan Mays 'Puff' Prints I'd love to get my hands on it!
[Show spoiler]

Hope everyone is enjoying their limited paper! Latest purchase for me was those 8-bit China plates from Olly Moss.

I got 2-3 tubes in recently with some random stuff. I'll post some photos when I have a chance.

Pretty much anything 20th Century Fox and Disney are difficult to get, which is why collectors didn't see much of the Wolverine posters out there, again not counting the eBay stuff which is mostly stuff taken from theaters. The two domestic Wolverine posters both featured the same artwork, the final style simply added the credits to the poster featuring the black charcoal-like drawing of Logan. The advance teaser had the UV-glossy coating on the black portions, the final style did not to my knowledge. I was only offered single-sided and I took all that was offered to me because of the rarity of them. The film was ok, but design-wise it looks really nice.

Should I be buying these up at these prices because of the rarity? The ones I mentioned were cinema used.

Ultimately it is your decision what you want, but at those prices you really can't go wrong as those seem quite low, and even if they are used in theaters, they still are difficult to get and it sounds like you want them in your collection so I say continue to get them while you can, just look them over really well.

Cool poster story for you guys. It's no secret I'm a huge fan of the film Let Me In. Well ever since I started getting into posters I have been looking for these double sided posters.

Well I seem to miss them every time they have hit eBay. So a few weeks ago I called the old theater where I viewed one of my many viewings of the film and they actually had two of the one were Abby is in the fetal position. I was pumped until I went and picked them up, they were wrecked. There was no way I could ever display them.

So obviously I was bummed so I decided to do something crazy. I went on Craigslist and browsed from state to state for posters. Well I click on Michigan and then Detroit and a guy had a listing for movie posters. Well I contacted him and low and behold he had one of each poster. I asked him how much and he said $5 a piece. He agreed to ship them to me in New York. So not expecting much for $5 each I got them this week and I was shocked to see they were mint. The guy even threw in an extra of the snow angel one for free. So I got three pretty rare posters for $20 shiped! How is that for a lucky score fella's???

Thanks man, yeah persistence really does pay off. It's kinda weird spending hours on Craigslist but it worked out.

That's quite kind of you, I had my eye on that pre-order Crow figure but I feel they got the hair wrong, it's simply too short, if it was longer, it would have been a great piece to own.

That's a great pickup. Before I found blu-ray.com I use to browse craigslist for posters. You never know what you'll find there. Craigslist has dried up quite a bit here in canada as kijiji has taken over as the preferred online free buy & sell... In a lot of ways I miss the simplicity of craigslist.
