Finished my theater room recently and I built a few backlit LED poster frames to display some posters from my favorite movies.

These are 2 on the left side of my room, showing off 2 of my favorite movies, Avengers and Inception.

Pictures of the posters are hard to take with the lighting I have in the theater and then the posters being lit up so need to work on getting some better ones for the others but I have 2 more on the right side of the room:
One more for me: Spiderman 3
Then one for my wife: Harry Potter - Deathly Hallows Part 1

And then one on the outside of the theater entrance door that has Wall-E (for my kids)

Nice theater room set-up, that Avengers poster must have been the IMAX exclusive style, it featured some extra wording at the bottom of the poster not found on the domestic final or the international final.

Yeah, I am not sure about the version. It says, "ASSEMBLE IN IMAX 3D" at the bottom...

When I first started looking for posters for my room last year, I wanted an Iron Man one - particularly this one:

But the cheapest I could find was $350 and that just wasn't going to happen... The Iron Man 2 posters were a decent price but they just weren't doing it for me. Avengers was coming out in a a month or so a the time and while I liked the poster, I wasn't sure if the movie was going to be any good but I picked it up for $25 because it was better looking that the Iron Man 2s for sure. I'm glad I did because the movie was a hit, I loved it (one of my favorites) and it just looks great lit up.

Cross off another on my poster bucket list. I just won a Underworld Evolution international DS poster auction on emovieposters.com for $34 shipped. So in the past week I have managed to get my top 3 most wanted posters for a not so shabby total of $54 shipped.

That Iron Man poster was the first poster made, know as the "teaser advance". No one expected Iron Man to be such a big hit, but it was, and in my opinion that is the nicest Iron Man poster to date, and it ranks as one of the rarest too. There were two versions made, both featured the same artwork, however the difference was the UV-coating. Sometimes a studio will add a shiny glossy UV-coating on the front of a poster. It's not overly common but some studios do it to make their poster really stand out, and when they do it, they look quite nice. For this Iron Man teaser, there are glossy and non-glossy versions out there. It is actually a very rare poster, up until recently MoviePoster.com had it featured on their site for sale for $230 but they didn't specify if their copy was glossy or not, and they stated their copy was damaged too. It is not listed so I have to assume they sold it, and if they can get $230 for a damaged copy, then a near-mint/mint copy probably could fetch $350+ and that seems to be the price you noticed.

I don't know of any other trustworthy dealers that have them, but I do, and I will send you a private message directly and inquire more about that Avengers final style you have as well.

I agree, the teaser for Iron Man, while a simple design, is a really nice poster and the glossy coating adds a lot to it too I might add. It's certainly a hard one to find, and will continue to get harder to find as the years go by.

I have a plain white door goin into my home cinema room and just had a idea about having a large vertical poster framed and stuck on the door.

I would love a giant movie collage of some sort.

any ideas?

Hot dayum!!! I love that. Didn't even know that existed. All I've seen of Bebop prints was simplistic or redone art (art I already had on a wall scroll).

The framing alone would probably cost a fortune to frame something big enough to cover up a door, honestly I wouldn't put a framed poster up on a door, because with it being opened and closed, you run the risk of the framed piece falling off the door and if that happens. If you put anything up, I would go unframed. I am sure you can find a door poster reproduction out there unless you wanted to go original, that would limit you to 27x40 inches in size.

Several framed 16x20 prints.

I have a bunch from an artist named Ant Lucia (pronounced Loo-chee-uh) and they are awesome.

You can also have smaller prints matted to 16x20. It is a great size for quantity and I think that the member who posted advising against a movie poster on a door really had your best interests in mind. A framed poster of that size (especially if you go with glass) on a door is asking for a LOT of trouble.

Good luck though and enjoy,

~LD
