20 Eyes Collective will be releasing two limited edition Bernie Wrightson sketch prints on Halloween at a random time. They are each limited to 100 signed and numbered copies by Wrightson himself, 18x24 inches in size. More info and images can be found here:

Edit: I just emailed DMR a friendly request to add more DS movie posters as rewards and cited that when they add posters they tend to 'sell out' quickly. Couldn't hurt for others to do the same I suppose.

K5, what are some things to look for when authenticating a folded 1985 The Breakfast Club poster?

Do I need to roll my posters up in kraft paper or something in order to store them safely in tubes?

Anyone done any dealings with allposters.com and framing?

They have a frame I want but I'm trying to go about getting everything sized up so when it gets here I can just put the poster in myself.

Also are any of you using conservation or museum type bottom mats on your screen prints?

That or tissue paper. Keeps them from rubbing- if it's a screen print.

Unsure to be honest, I primarily go back to 1990. Folded is a good start though, unsure if rolled ones exist. You may want to contact Dave with Cinemasterpieces.com as he knows a lot about older titles and could help you out more so than I could on that title.

Remember cardboard is very acidic and can stain over time, I don't recommend long term storage in tubes. Wrapping the poster in acid-free tissue which I believe they make would be nice, but it depends on how long you are planning on storing them. I just avoid long term storage in cardboard tubes.

I dont believe they carry authentic stuff, mainly reproductions for those who just want to have something for their walls.

Hi there!

I was wondering if anybody could help me out. Is it possible to restore double-sided posters? I have some that are in okay shape. One is mint, but has a crease at the top, another has some damage along the edges because I put it in a tube with nothing to pad on either end. Also, I discovered I've been rolling them the wrong way, so when I lay them out they get tiny wrinkles.

The one I would really like to restore at some point, is my "The Dark Knight - IMAX Re-release" that has the crease at the top. Also, does anyone know where I can buy those plastic sleeve tube things?

As you can tell, I'm not really an expert in this field.

I honestly don't know if there is a way to repair double-sided original movie posters, I never looked into that, even though I probably should have by now. I know you can restore older posters, and also do things like linen-backing but that is generally something someone does to posters that were folded originally to try and hide the fold lines as much as possible.

The Dark Knight Re-Release style is incredibly rare, defiantly a nice poster and a hard one to find, I was only able to get a very small amount originally and fortunate enough to still have them in stock as I don't believe any other dealers do. Regarding rolling, its probably not that you are rolling the wrong way but it sounds like you may be rolling them too tight to begin with.

At first a person's nature reaction is to take the poster and roll it as tight as possible, when the best way to do it is simply roll it up loosely and then put one finger in one end and while holding the poster with one hand, slowly turn the poster with your finger inside one end until it gets smaller. I find that helps to eliminate the wrinkles. Rolling posters is something I do on a regular basis so I got it down quite well, but it sounds like you may be initially rolling too tight.

Regarding those "plastic sleeve tube things" you referred to I supposed you mean the poly tube sleeves that you see mall posters or posters at a store like Target, or Walmart, correct? That material comes in different thickness and width. If you don't want to roll your poster too tight at all, then I believe you can get a 4" opening and that means you won't need to worry about getting your poster tight each time to put it back into the poly tube. The downside is the larger the diameter of the poster once it is rolled and in the sleeve, the more room it takes up. If room/storage is not a problem, you may want to roll your stuff up with 4" material. When I sell a poster, I roll it up and place it a ploy tube sleeve and I believe I use 2" opening size but since I am used to rolling a poster tight without leaving creases, I sometimes fail to remember that perhaps my customers may not, so I may move up to a 3" opening eventually.

Buying the poly tube sleeve material generally means you have to buy a roll of it, I have not looked into if you can just buy pre-cut strips per say such as enough to do ten posters, etc. I get it in a large roll from Uline, they carry 2mil, 3mil, 4mil, etc. I believe the higher number, the more stiffer gauge the plastic is. I believe I once used 4mil and find it to be too rigid. I will have to check to see what I use and can PM you if you want. Again because I am used to rolling posters, I would recommend going up one inch larger in diameter so you don't have to roll as tight to fit. I think I use a 2mil thickness with a 2" opening but I will verify tomorrow.

Might want to try Poster Mountain and see what they think... they do amazing work. Will cost you, but they know what they're doing.

Sorry for the delay, for the record the poly tube material I use to roll each poster that I ship out is product code #S-1112 from the Uline website and is a 2" opening and 2mil thick. You do have to know how to roll a poster without damaging to fit in there, so if you don't want to roll it as tight, I would suggest going with a 3" opening but the 2mil thickness is good, it isn't rigid at all as the higher the mil, the thicker is gets. If you went with that, you would want product code S-1113. A roll will last you for eternity. I may try S-1113 myself and how it is compared to the 2" opening, perhaps it will be easier for my customers to roll back up and place over the 2". I only have about half of a roll left of the current 2" 2mil left.
