Most cinemas also allow staff members first choice on posters (makes up for the poor wage) so dont be suprised if they dont have any. Kids films(especially dreamworks) are easier to get ahold of as they send about 30 to each cinema
So the theaters get like 10 to 20 copies of each poster?

15 - 20 years ago I was "the poster guy" at a 10 screen theater. We would normally get 2 or 3 posters for a movie. Rarely we would get more. If needed we could order more, if we were doing a local promotional tie-in somehow.

One poster we got a lot of, a dozen or so, was Titanic. Others, such as Star Wars, were strictly limited.

Anyone interested in poster art or artists should check out "Drew: The Man Behind the Poster" on Netflix now. I haven't seen it mentioned here yet but I'm sure a lot of you would enjoy it. It was great to listen to Drew talk about the work but so sad to think of the direction Hollywood has taken regarding poster art. I can only hope that one day the value of a talented draftsman like Drew will be recognized by the general public, and studio executives.

Now that I've heard a little from Del Torro during this documentary I see why so many people like him. I plan to take a look at his movies I've missed.

I tried to get his Hardcover book but it's sold out everywhere around me.

Also if anyone has Olly Moss' Zelda and Mario prints (Regular and Variants) and a couple of Tom Whalen Disney prints (Steamboat Mickey and Mickeys Service Station) I'm interested!

From my favourite movie of all time. I framed it myself, thus not professionally done and with more practise I hope to do better but the photograph does not do it justice, it actually looks quite good in the flesh.

Finally got a mondo poster this morning! Went for the variant of Where the Wild Things Are, but was sold out super quick. Glad I got the normal one at least.

I believe the most recent hardcover book devoted to Struzan was released as a hardcover in 2011 called "Drew Struzan: Oeuvre" with an MSRP of $49.95, you can find it on Amazon for $33.32 at the following link:

http://www.amazon.com/Drew-Struzan-O...s=drew+struzan

If you really want to go all out, Titan Books in the United Kingdom offered a limited edition version of which only 1000 copies were produced. A special signed plate is included as well as more special enhancements. The price they have listed is 100 British Pounds which comes out to $164.00 U.S. dollars or $179.00 Canadian dollars. Unsure how many are technically still available but all the details can be found here for those wanting to pick this edition up:

http://titanexclusives.myshopify.com...d-edition-5709

You can also purchase the above limited edition version via Amazon.com from Titan Books for cheaper than on their actual website with images of it too here:

Anyone buying the mark mane timed release prints from bottleneck? Am I understanding it correctly that they will sell as many prints as people buy till the timed event ends?

Correct. In timed releases the final edition number is how ever many people ordered the item.

I haven't been paying attention to paper much these days but I'm seriously thinking about this set. I love timed releases. These ones do remind me a fair bit of the Olly Moss Star Wards print... not sure why, exactly, but they do.

I will admit they are pretty cool looking, since they aren't "Mondo" branded prints, there could be a large number of collectors who aren't aware of them despite being a two day timed release.

Default Emerald City Comic-Con 2014

If anyone has some vacation time coming up, the annual "Emerald City Comic-Con" here in Seattle is fast approaching, only a few months away. My friends are the organizers and it's the third largest comic-con in the United States, fourth overall in North America. This year's show is March 28-30 in downtown Seattle, I always have a booth there, and this year they will have artist Jock who did a kick ass Halloween print for Mondo recently as well as a Judge Dredd one, and also actor Karl Urban (who played Dredd) as well as several comic book artists, celebrities, and more.

If you need more info, it can be found here: http://www.emeraldcitycomiccon.com/

3-Day tickets and Saturday tickets are sold out online, but available through some local comic stores here. If anyone is planning on coming out for it and need tickets, let me know and I can pick them up for you.

I ended up picking a set up, won't see them until March, but that's okay, I can wait.

I wonder how many people purchased that Star Wars Manev set over the weekend and how many people forgot? Not just here, but in general. Two high profile football games may have distracted some, I actually nearly forgot, but ordered some sets a few minutes before they were pulled from the site. I was too busy celebrating my Seahawks win.....

Funny you should mention this. I'm one of those that forgot and for exactly the reason you mentioned... celebrating my Seahawks win. As a long time, die hard fan it was an all consuming event for me yesterday.

Me missing the timed drop had a lot to do with me being hesitant about buying the set in the first place though. I almost ordered it Friday but was waiting to see if I'd score the JC Richards ESB print. Figured if I did I might just pass on the Manev set since I've got a lot of SW prints already. After being successful on the JC drop I figured I'd mull over the Manev set through the weekend. By the time I remembered it the window to order had just passed minutes ago.

Can't wait for the Super Bowl though. GO HAWKS!!

Great game, I was worried at times now. I have to assume you are going to Wizard World this weekend down there in Portland seeing that Ron Pearlman will be there signing?

Was planning on going to WW but won't be making it unfortunately. Work and some family stuff has me tied up. Did you decide to come down or are you still sitting this one out?

I am not sure if I will be having a booth there at WW, I will know more probably in the next day or two. They are charging way too much for exhibitor space. If I do set up I will know a few people there and could probably get something signed for you if need be, and coordinate with you if its a specific item, etc if you wanted something signed by Pearlman. You should head up to Emerald City Comic-Con in late March up here in Seattle, that show is a major blast. 3-Day and Saturday badges have sold out online, but local stores here have them if you need me to get you any.
