It's more than likely 4' x 6', the vinyl banners are generally 5' x 8' but bus shelters tend to be 48" x 60" (aka 4 feet by 6 feet" but I have seen some that are bigger. You can check with dealer websites but bus shelter and vinyl banners are generally very difficult to get, and thus, can be quite expensive because fewer of them are made because of the higher production costs compared to one-sheets.

Yes- 4x6 sorry looked at the wrong box. But yes IMAX light box poster size is a Bus Shelter.

No need to be sorry. I have noticed that some theaters actually do have the bus shelter-size posters in their lobbies, not many, but some of the larger theaters tend to have them, and then naturally the bus shelters and inside/outside larger malls too.

Do you know how what dealer website I would need to go on? Is it a specific site, or just any poster site in general?

Yeah the Star Wars one was delivered super fast. Love it. Not used to that. especially since mondo's usually take a month. Still need to frame mine too.

The problem you will run into with poster dealers is the majority of them can't get bus shelters or banners, they stick with one-sheets (originals and reprints) and that is about it. There are some who see dollar signs and then make their own in-house but then you are dealing with a counterfeit, not an original. As much as eBay is a haven for everything (originals, reprints, counterfeits, etc) you may want to check there as there are some people on there I have noticed who must have some sort of connection with the bus depot companies that get the bus shelter size posters in. Remember for the most part bus shelter poster aren't displayed in theaters, only a small number of theaters get them, the majority go to the companies that handle the displays in those large bus shelter frames which are quite common in larger cities and larger malls (indoor and outdoor). It's all about getting public attention, bigger malls mean people and the studios want to market their films to as many people as possible. Bus depots see bus loads of people as well as car traffic pass by them every moment of the day, but acquiring bus shelters is very difficult.

If you see any on eBay, make sure to ask questions to the sellers such as if they are authentic, if they were previously displayed, etc. In some cities were they get a lot of sun/heat, it can fade the posters so it probably wouldn't hurt for the seller to upload actual photos, etc.

Thank you for the very informative reply, K5. I'm not expecting to find any online, and if I do it probably won't be for a cheap price like you said, but I'll definitely keep and eye out. Thanks again!

No problem at all. Yeah, some of the studio-issued items for films are just simply are hard to come by, mainly due to rarity, not nearly as many bus shelters/banners/standees are made as opposed to one-sheets. The more elaborate they are, the more they cost to produce, thus the less are made. One sheets are the most common, but also the most reprinted/counterfeited too.

I'm hoping you guys can help me out with a problem i'm having.

I got this frame over christmas and I still can't figure out how the f**k to hang it. It didn't come with any stuff to hang it with and when I call the company, they tell me it has to be mounted to the wall.

I went to the hardware store today and got wire hanger line and the eye hooks but the screws that it came with are too thin to fit in the pre-drilled holes in the frame. I guess I could just drill my own holes...or I have to figure out what size screws would go into the frame? Any advice?

It appears that your frame is solid and flat on the back based on those photos, correct? Kind of like a flat sheet of metal, and the holes are to put the wires, right? For the record when I have something framed, which isn't as often as I used to, I have it professionally done and the back of the frame has a channel around it and the framer puts a small metal bracket on each side, and then runs a tight wire between them and I hang them up that way with a nail in a small bracket into the wall (actually for a one-sheet poster size I use two nails/two tiny brackets, which give it more support than one).

In your case though, something you MAY want to consider is not using a wire at all, but go with double-stick velco squares. Scotch brand tape sells them in black or white, you can find a package at Staples or any Office Supply Store, generally 24 of each square (two different squares in a pack) so you would have enough to hang multiple osters if you used two squares on each of the top side of the back of the poster. One square sticks to the wall, you then place the other square over it with the sticky side facing out and then you press it onto the back of the frame and hang it that way. No holes to worry about, no wires either.

But still, just a suggestion, could be you don't want to go this route, but here is the link to them anyways just in case, they come in white or black, and are found in-store at Staples, etc rather easily. About $5 a package and if they dont work out, you can return them:

Thank you very much for the lengthy suggestion! I'd have to weigh the frame, as it is quite heavy itself. I also live in an apartment which is why I'm more hesitant to put holes in the walls indiscriminately. If I lived in my own house, I would have no problem with it. I just might try your idea...if I can't come up with another solution.

If anyone else has any ideas, I'm happy to hear them!

Yes living in an apartment, if you put holes in the walls, you would have to patch them before you move out, which is an easy fix, but still, you could try those Scotch double stick tape squares if you wanted. You could even use more than one for each corner, maybe put out of them across the top, one on each corner at the top and two towards the center. You would not need to put any on the bottom unless you wanted to, then you could just probably put them on each corner which would help with the weight issue of the frame.

So what I did was...take the wire and run it through each side....and tie knots in it...so it wouldn't break through and crimp it with pliers.

Voila.
