Just got this 11x17 in the other day. Really loved the poster when I was at the Imax . As much as id love to have the actual size it probably wont be too cheap to find.

An original double-sided NBC can fetch over $150 in some places, they are very hard to find, $100-$150 is actually a very fair price for that poster. When you are talking about having a poster professionally framed, there is a fairly large price jump when you go with 41" over 40", because the 41" tall glass is a lot more as its not a general size framers tend to keep in stock. If your poster is 27x40 I would stick with that, the extra would just cause a white excess area when the poster is framed. There are 27x41 inch originals but I believe they stopped doing 27x41 around the early 90' completely probably sooner.

That 11x17 Force Awakens poster to my knowlegde isn't full-size, it was only made in 11x17 as a free giveaway if you saw the film at a certain chain of theaters duing a certain time. Theaters have been doing that for a few years now, to get people to come to their chain of theaters or see it on any IMAX screen at any theater, they will give out a free poster and they are generally only 11x17 or 13x19 inches in size. It doesn't mean it will stop people from taking the image and selling knock-off enlargments on eBay, Amazon, etc, but "officially" I believe only 11x17 promotional versions single-sided exist. |

I dont think there is anything earthquake-proof but when you hang anything 24x36 inches or larger always go with two hanging hooks or whatever it is a person uses to hang a poster, don't go with one, its always best to go with two on the wall, gives it a bit more support over the one.

I thought they hugged the posters too closely, didn't want to hide millimeters of the poster or cause damage, I was so nervous putting them in, lol. |

Is it the same image as the theatrical one-sheet final style or the artwork of that 11x17 giveaway poster posted above?

Interesting, FOX must have made a bus shelter size poster then of that image unless it is something IMAX did themselves. While theaters and IMAX do get in specially made giveaway mini posters, IMAX has been known to actually print their own poster for themselves, I can't recall how many times they have done it, it may be only once, but I do know the Dark Knight Rises had an official IMAX exclusive one-sheet that was double-sided, and incredibly difficult to find. This was someting that the studio themselves didn't distribute, or print, it was something IMAX did. This was what it looked like for those Batman fans out there:
http://www.impawards.com/2012/dark_k...ses_ver22.html Something to note, while all of the double-sided originals that are printed now have the faded backside to them as I have touched upon in past posts, this particular style did not have that feature to them. The back side has the same color consistency as the front side, someting that used to be the normal routine but no longer, but this style does not have the lighter backside to them. I was only able to get a small handful back in the day, they went fast. |

Sadly this is only my 3rd Imax viewing ever but I do enjoy it when I can make the trip. I did get this from ebay so I have no way of knowing if its a reprint or not. Either way I do really enjoy this Image and the quality is pretty good. Quote:
Ok so this is where I am truly confused here is a image that I took at the theater and I am 90% sure it twas a 27x40. It was such a long day out of town I cant say without a doubt the sized but here is a picture I took. 1234963_1053820611314981_8458748254518742429_n.jpg |
